I have come to a place in life where I am sick of the internet and its addictive capability. I need to focus my life on things other than on-line aurgument with ignorant people from a place that I no longer live. I care deeply about Miles City and its success. I will always consider it home. I am proud to be from Miles City. But the reality is that nothing I say is going to change or make any difference, so I don't need to waste anymore of my time.

The internet has become a place filled with two kinds of people; the vile hatemonggers that are stuck in yesteryear, back when Ward and June ruled the day, (They forget that socialist Esinhower was in charge) and the Polyanna crowd that believe that life is all unicorns that fart rainbows and pots of gold. Both are annoying. Both ignore reality.

Few are interested in actually learning anything. Unfortunatly, we live in an age where if you can't say it in less than 140 characters, nobody will listen. Yet the deeper issues of life are HIGHLY nuanced and we would benefit from in-depth discussion. Most are too lazy to engage in such dialog.

Frankly, IMO, this site has outlived it's usefulness. I have genrously supported it financial in the past. I can't justify continuing contribute.  I've got 10,699 post here. For now I am done... See you in the funny papers.

I fit in neither group. I no longer realate to much of anything on the internet and am trying to quit social networking. I unfriended 24 people this morning on FB and am down to 18 left. We will see how long they last.

As long as I find it useful for finding lost dogs and asking when the Alta Club burned down and that sort of thing, I'll stick around. You might drop by now and then for a terrible joke or two.

Richard even though we didnt allways see eye to eye on some things and at times I didnt really wanna hear what you had to say, even though your comments were right on at times. You are pretty much needed on this site so people including myself will re adjust some of our thinking. Things have changed and new ideas along with new people are coming to this site, doesnt mean that old ideas are not needed. Every day I see new people on this site or moving into Miles City and it doesnt mean that their ideas and thoughts that they bring into our community are embraced. Believe it or not your thoughts and beliefs do mean something to this community. Anyways Happy New Years to you and yours, and hope you stay put on this site.

In reference to Richard's original post: I don't like it, I don't like it a BIT.

Richard,

Just come and go. It's comforting to have MilesCity.com there. It fills a niche at the least and scratches an itch at the most.

Don't say "goodbye" say "see you later".

I am going to be posting many threads now about how the Kansas City Chiefs are so much better than the Denver Broncos, why Peyton Manning should regain his starting position and sentence Brock's sorry ass to sitting on pine, how St. Paul's vision of the Catholic Church is being currently served today - damn, where do I start?

Ooooohh......Coors is 500 times better than Guinness. There.

Say it ain't so Richard. I know how you feel. The only social media I do
is MC.COM, no face book, no tweets,no blogs. It is discouraging when most anything,
even Golden Corral , can turn into verbal abuse. It's so easy to write
things when not face to face. People on both sides of an issue are equally guilty.
I will miss your jokes, puns, philosophical ramblings and point of view which I usually agree with.
