"Star Wars" (1977) aka "Star Wars IV: A New Hope" opened on May 25, 1977 according to imdb.com.
Anyone know when "Star Wars" first played at the Montana Theatre? Did it even make it to Miles City in 1977? I seem to recall the line extended down Main Street and may have even wrapped around the corner at 9th Street, but that was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away....
So I was at a store buying supplies for Christmas and the purchase rang up as $44.44. The cashier looked at me and said, "I guess the fours are with you today." . . .
I just bought tickets to see it on Tuesday with my two kids. One of the local theaters just remodeled and installed reclining seats. They now do reserved seating (you pick your seat when you buy your ticket). It's pretty plush but some of the kids movies I see I already have a hard time staying awake. Putting me into full recline mode really tests me.
Meh... It will be cheaper to see if I wait until it hits redbox or the bargin bin at Target. The snack will be cheaper and I can control the sound volume.
It must be because Richard and I are old. I never got the Star Wars craze, either. Sure it was a fun yarn to watch, but I can think of at least a hundred movies I liked better.
