Week 4 - Heavy Hearts

With heavy hearts following the passing of long-time Head Coach Dan Stanton, the Custer County Cowboys will travel to Belgrade this Friday to take on the Panthers. The Cowboys are coming off a 54-28 win over Havre in which Matthew Blunt accounted for 5 TD'S (4 Rushing, 1 Passing). According to Brian Reed, Blunt is the 1st Cowboys QB to ever pass for 4 TD'S and then the following week, run for 4 TD'S. Blunt also added to his school record, by throwing over 200 yards for the 4th straight game (counts Whitefish playoff game).

In the win, Wyatt Lesh caught a TD pass for the 3rd straight game and Tyler Burk collected a pick six (62 yards). The Cowboys are 3-0 for the 2nd straight year and are in a familiar spot (3-0 heading to Belgrade). Last season, the Cowboys suffered a 34-25 loss to the Panthers due in large part to the phenomenal play of QB Bradyen Konkol (graduated this past spring.)

Belgrade has struggled in 2015 (0-3; lost 34-14 to Laurel last week). Kickoff from Belgrade is set for 7PM and KATL Radio will have the game (feed from Belgrade).

Not only did the Cowboys win big over a Belgrade team that is having a rough year, but credit to Belgrade High School for showing some respect. Here's the Gazette article about that: http://billingsgazette.co...77343.html

I get the feeling that pretty-much any team playing the Cowboys after the loss of their coach would have done the same thing, but I still think it's cool.
