I cannot believe what I seen on my way to fishing this morning. The river acceses were littered with garbage and after math of fire works. Then on my way past the ball parks people just left the spent fireworks laying on the road or some even left their garbage sacks full of garbage just laying there. What kind of people do these things. I do know the old gray ford bronco with no top on it that was at one of the sites and we witnessed him throwing beer cans on the bank and he also left his spent firworks behind. I believe it was very close to where the horse pasture is that caught on fire last night. Regardless I guess it tells alot about some of the people we have here in our town. Very disapointing... Kudos to those that have enough respect for our recreation areas that they pack there garbage out with them....

So, explain to me what "celebrations of 'Merica" and low-life pigs have in common? Low-life slobs are everywhere, including your neighborhood.

Is it your opinion that those who celebrate the 4th of July and appreciate it's meaning and result are slobs and degenerates?

I know if I would have seen someone throwing beer cans and trash out I would have said something or called the police right away. Not just get on here and complain about it.

I assume the 'Merica reference was referring to something like this:

Urban Dictionary wrote:
'Merica

A term used by overly-patriotic and often ignorant/hick Americans to claim pride over their country. Also, a term used by more educated Americans to mock the overly patriotic rednecks that use the term.

Redneck example: "Let's randomly have a party celebrating America in the middle of the year (not related to 4th of July or any other holiday) just to celebrate America! 'Merica! Oh, And gays and immigrants suck! 'Merica"

Educated example: "Do these morons realize that America is about freedom and we are a land of immigrants. They probably have never picked up a history book in their life, and blindly follow Fox news. 'Merica!"

from the main street bridge to the mouth, the tounge river shoreline on town side is littered w/ trash from parties, and even an abandoned tent, clothes & rotting food. I have lived in m.c. for 25+ years and never have i seen it like this!? I have stopped and picked up trash beneath the railroad bridge 3x and am disgusted that nothing can b done. The last time i stopped i filled 2 lg trash bags & within days found there was garbage strewn all over there again. Sad.

As Sartre writes in his work Existentialism is a Humanism: "... man first of all exists, encounters himself, surges up in the world—and defines himself afterwards." Of course, the more positive, therapeutic aspect of this is also implied: A person can choose to act in a different way, and to be a good person instead of a cruel person. Here it is also clear that since humans can choose to be either cruel or good, they are, in fact, neither of these things essentially.

Austin8, This piece of philosophy refers to all manner of behavior. Cleaning your room, just because you want to, for example, is a choice based on how one defines oneself. It holds true with "pack it in, pack it out."

Sadly there are many in Miles City (or anyplace really) that chose to just ignore it or slog through it without regard for their fellow travelers. There are others that can't sleep at night unless the last dish is wiped dry and stored in its proper place.

Defining others is a big fat exercise in self flagellation.

Ok my post wasnt intended to bring out the he said she said (easy way out) routine or get the attention of maybe some that are guilty of trashing our town. It is good however to know that there are some people that realy do care about our rivers, parks and etc.I was thinking is it the people that are here on a temporary basis or is it those that just dont care, or may be its both.As far as reporting those people that I see littering our recreation area, or getting on here a complaining about'em, I do both and if some think getting on here for feed back is complaining well I will complain then for a very long time, why you ask? because this is my home town and very proud of what we have been given, as well as what we do with it.

Kierkegaard says, "Infinite resignation is the last stage before faith, so anyone who has not made this movement does not have faith, for only in infinite resignation does an individual become conscious of his eternal validity, and only then can one speak of grasping existence by virtue of faith." He spoke about this kind of consciousness in an earlier book. "There comes a moment in a person's life when immediacy is ripe, so to speak, and when the spirit requires a higher form, when it wants to lay hold of itself as spirit.

Steve has given you ripe immediacy. The higher form provided by friend Steve is now to grab the the mouse click the provided link and turn from essence to reality. Own the reality of becoming and living ethically.

I always carry a couple trash bags in my vehicle to clean up after the 'slobs'. My son & I used to go to the park/Oasis the day after the fireworks show and clean up.
We were out at Spotted Eagle last night and it was disgusting, the trash left on the banks. M.C. is really fortunate to have a place like Spt.Eagle and should appriciate all the beautiful work they have done out there. :/

Steve and I were once hiking at the top of Going to the Sun. We had a garbage bag in hand and followed a woman who was putting film (this was the Olden Days) in her camera. We picked up the box she dropped. We picked up the film wrapper she dropped. Then she turned around to take a picture of the natural beauty and saw us, picking up her garbage. She looked startled and walked away very quickly. The back seat of our little Subaru was full of garbage by the time we got back to Whitefish, all picked up in Glacier Park.

Some enterprising sort should set a hidden camera at the Rouche Jaun access. It would be amazing to see the children of the pillars of society at play.
