Home (Junk Yard)

Why does the home at the entrance of the golf course look like a junk yard AGAIN?! It wasn't too long ago that is was cleaned up. This is crazy that the home owner has been allowed to do this again and again and again....lol at the city officials who are looking the other way.

The guy has problems.
What about all the junk on Valley Drive East, mainly the one block south of Leighton street?

So because he has problems the city does nothing about the junk? With all the rain we have had lately there must be mold and bugs in all that junk!!

They should both be made to clean it up. Thompson was sold out several years ago and lost his buildings but he has gathered again. I agree that Shipley has problems but he should still have to clean up. I understand the judge stated that he had to keep it clean for a certain amount of time to get out of jail and off probation. It doesn't appear he paid attention and I believe the time is now passed so any action taken now will have to be new. My understanding Is that he advertises a rummage sale every Saturday so this is his gimmick for getting by with it.

It doesn't look like the judge or anyone else cares what this home owner does or how it affects his neighbors. And he get away with it by claiming its all part of a rummage sale, doesn't he need some kind of license since this rummage sale goes on 7 days a week, wouldn't this be more like a business in a residential neighborhood?

Go around the corner to the Mayor's home and you will see why the city doesn't do anything with Shipley's yard. The Mayor has a used car lot on his property.

And yet not even 4 days after we started on cleaning the property we bought we were informed we had 2 weeks to get it cleaned..and this has been going on at these places for how long? Seems if they want to enforce crap maybe, just maybe, they need to be sure others are in compliance instead of jumping on new folks who bought a home and had a dumpster sitting at the front door with junk in it and at least showing an effort to clean it up? Or is it selective enforcement and they think by jumping the new guys they are showing how tough they think they are?
