According to the NOAA.gov website, the Powder River will have the worst flooding in years (think I heard worst in 50 years), due to the recent heavy rains in Wyoming. The river will be rising on Tuesday and Wednesday probably all the way to the Yellowstone, including Broadus. Roads and pastures along the river are expected to be flooded.

I crossed the Powder in a couple of places this past weekend and it was bank full. The pictures below are from the WDOT in the Windriver Canyon. This is on the west side of the mountian and the Powder drains out of the east side at in the same area. They had a bunch of rain in a short period of time. Glendo is also very full.

From 8:00 to 12:30 Thursday morning, at the Powder River Bridge near Broadus, the Powder River has risen around 6 inches or a little over an inch an hour. Another two or three feet, the river should leave its banks and flood more low lying areas.

River has risen 10 inches from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, still over an inch an hour. NWS says it should not rise very much more.

Shelter me
From the Powder and the finger
Cover me
With the thought that pulled the trigger

Big Don's been drinking since the river took Emmylou.
