Thank you, Richard! Thankfully, I got my requested birthday present--RAIN! Now I may have more opportunities for variety (admittedly, I had watermelon this morning).

Maybe or maybe not. I've not looked closely, but I'd bet it was cut from the irrigation drain ditch next to his house.

Truth be told, we're still working on the embankment behind his house--letting the irrigation ditch grow a bit more (and dry out now since it was full of water).
