Looks like Jobie is enjoying his nitrogen-deficient western wheatgrass
(Pascopyrum smithii for you veg-heads and you know who you are... ) . Happy Birthday Jobie!

Thank you, Richard! Thankfully, I got my requested birthday present--RAIN! Now I may have more opportunities for variety (admittedly, I had watermelon this morning).

Love,
Jobie

I would have been happy to share my grass with you, David--we could have had a real celebration! You might not have known were it not for the creative headline!

Love,
Jobie

Maybe or maybe not. I've not looked closely, but I'd bet it was cut from the irrigation drain ditch next to his house.

Truth be told, we're still working on the embankment behind his house--letting the irrigation ditch grow a bit more (and dry out now since it was full of water).

In Denver the grass is more salubrious than celebratory.
