Caught five cats yesterday and today with chicken gizzards, so they do work. Probably best for setlines in rivers with fast moving water as they will stay on the hook and you don't get many "junk" fish. Frogs and liver probably work better for quiet waters.

Nice. What river were you fishing?

Caught some really big catfish at Mathews Recreational Area last year in early June. I used chicken livers that sat outside for 2 days.(the stinkier,the better) Put the liver on a on a medium sized hook and wrapped pantyhose around it and secured it to the hook. We didn't have any problems with the liver falling off.
