Two North Dakota brothers were sentenced Monday to prison time and ordered to pay back more than $900,000 for intentionally destroying potatoes to collect federal farm insurance payments.

Since these guys scammed the USDA, we should assume everyone applying for USDA programs is a drug user. If it works for SNAP, why not apply it to everyone.

The truly despicable aspect of this, beyond the bigoted stereotypes this type of legislation is built around, is that the Montana Legislature cut significant funding from "child and family service" budgets to help fund the cost of drug testing....

Go figure

I have been writing to the gentlemen and lady on the Health and Human Services Committee who blocked Medicaid Expansion. I find it amazing that they are voting FOR the so-called "FREE RIDERS" that we already pay for in accelerated hospital bills and higher insurance premiums...and, against our tax dollar that will continue to help the savvy states who implemented the Expansion. If they will implement the Expansion ...they will eliminate the so-called Free Rider...and, we can possibly get a reprieve on one end of the issue.

Three of the gentlemen, Wittich, Mandeville and Redfield have signed Grover Norquist's Pledge (ATR) but, maybe there can be hope with the others.

I was just reading J. Hugo Aronson's "State of the State" 1953. "Never with God's help will any pressure, prejudice, partisanship or any other consideration interfere with my sincere purpose to do WHAT'S BEST FOR MONTANA". Makes you miss the days when Montana had strong representation from both parties. I keep thinking of the word "Decency"!!!

Fixed it for you.

By the way, I have two of K. Ross Toole's books for sale.
