Pet Walkes on Hospital Path and Fairgrounds

To People Who Walk Their Pets on the Holy Rosary Hospital Path and Around the Fairgrounds Walking Path and Spotted Eagle Trails Please carry bags with you so you can clean up after your pet. When I walk my pet I carry bags in my pocket and I pick up after my pet even if she goes poop in the grass or in the middle of the path A friend and I have been Around the fairgrounds path 2 times this week and 1 day was Friday February 13, 2015 and there were 3 spots in the middle of the walking path around the fairgrounds where dog poop had not been cleaned up. It is disgusting to see. Even clean up after your pet out at Spotted Eagle If pet walkers do not clean up after their pets the community could possibly make laws saying No Pets Allowed on the paths and trails at the Holy Rosary Hospital Path, Around the Fairgrounds Walking Path and Out at Spotted Eagle then where would we be able to walk our pets. Contact Janelle Grant of Keep Miles City Beautiful and ask her to contact the fair borad and get 3 garbage cans on the metal posts with the rolls of bags on the post put around the path at the fairgrounds on the outside of the fence(Garbage cans like the ones along the Hospital Walking Path and the Garbage cans out at the Spotted Eagle trails) They could put a Garbage can behind the fairgrounds, Halfway around the path going toward the main street bridge and a Garbage can closer to the main street bridge along the walking path at the fairgrounds. It is not fun to carry a bag of dog poop in your pocket after you clean up after your pet at the fairground Pet walkers also need to clean up after their pets inside the fence at the fairgrounds when you run your pets where cars park for the fair each summer Thanks for everyone's cooperation in this matter

Pet Walkers Please call the County Commissioners and Voice the need for garbage cans to be put outside the fence at the Fairgrounds along the Walking Path and a Garbage can inside the fence somewhere so when we walk our pets and clean up the dog poop we have somewhere to put the bags and not have to carry them in our pockets. A friend and I have been on the Walking Path around the Fairgrounds 2 times this past week and saw 3 spots in the middle of the path as we walked where dog poop had not been cleaned up It is disgusting to see. Also if you run or walk your pets inside the fence at the fairgrounds where cars park during the fair and other events Clean up after your pet. Please Please Pet Walkers Call the County Commissioners and Voice the need for Garbage Cans to be put out at the Fairground to put trash in Thanks

Hmm...seems like if people would just make sure their pet poops on the grass, where the natural and free process of decomposition can occur, and not on the walking path the "problem" takes care of itself. Who would be emptying these cans full of plastic bags full of dog poop?

Making sure that pets poop on the grass does not solve the problem. The grass at HRH is used for soccer leagues, picnics, etc. I am sure that people do not sppreciate their children rolling in dog poop. The best thing is to pick it up and put it in the nearest dumpster even if that means that you must carry it a ways.

As for who picks up the cans, they could probably be managed by the local sanitation service.

I propose a county-wide annual dog licensing fee of $10 per pet with a $50 fine for the first unlicensed pet violation, $100 fine for the 2nd violation, and $150 fine for all violations after the 2nd in any given year. Fees and fines are used to buy, supply, and service "pet stations" at public parks and recreation areas.

The Custer County Sheriff's Dept. is in charge of enforcing the license law. The Custer County Parks and Recreation Dept. (ha ha, I kill myself) is in charge of stocking the pet stations with plastic bags and emptying the waste bins.

I would like to know who is going to pay for the garbage cans on the walking path at the fairgrounds. and if they are going to be put on the outside of the fence how is the garbage truck going to get to them to dump them.

Judging by the amount of doody frequently seen less than 5 feet from one of the graciously provided 'doggie pots' on the HRHW ~ the placement of receptacles on the fairgrounds walk isn't going to solve the problem

Face it, there are conscience pet owners (some even pick-up after the not so conscience.. ) and there are arrogant, entitled people that are above 'rules'. Hopefully they don't get the rest of us banned from enjoying the privilege!

Just be thankful people are taking their dogs for walks!
