I think social media is a fantastic way to let the community know about the various fundraisers going on in our town.
First of all, it spreads the message much more quickly and completely than going door-to-door. I'm always hearing someone say they missed buying something (Girl Scout cookies, Cowboy cards, etc.)
And secondly, it targets an audience actually interested in the product. My daughter went door-to-door several years ago selling raffle tickets. It was surprising how many people were quite rude to her about being solicited. When every group is holding a fundraiser or two of some kind, some people do not appreciate people knocking on their door. With social media, you are not put on the spot to purchase something of no interest to you or that you cannot afford.
Best of luck selling!!!
