"We need someone who truly cares for Montana."
So, the question comes to mind; what has Jeff Bridges done to show he "truly cares for Montana" besides being an air thief in Paradise Valley?
Is there a "Jeff Bridges Community Hospital" or "Jeff Bridges Fine Arts Center" somewhere in Montana?
The two qualifications the Fruit Loop from Lockwood who proposed this came up with are: "he loves Montana" and "he's lived here 40 years."
Is there something else that would qualify him to be a U.S. Senator other than the ability to read a script that someone else wrote?
Anything?
After an exhaustive Google search, the only thing I could find is:
A) He's been in a lot of bad movies.
B) He does the typical amount of celebrity tax-dodge charity work.
C) According to him, he doesn't drink as much as he used to.

Ummm.....he's not Steve Daines?
If he simply just voted the way Harry Reid told him to vote, we would be way better off with the Dude than with Steve Daines.

I really think a positive is that he is NOT a KOCH addict? Also...he is not a signed member of Grover Norquist's ATR. A huge plus there. And...with luck...he just may be able to make a decision that will last longer than three months. Looks better all the time? IMO!!!

Hey, I know you guys all have a warm spot in your hearts for brainless morans and Hollywood asshats, but come January, Harry Reid won't be telling anybody what to do.
Actually, I think the Montana Democrats should go with "The Dude". That decision would probably be good for another 15-20 points in the polls for Daines.
I'm in full support of anything that puts Harry Reid on the back bench.

I don't love Reid.
I think Senate Majority Leader McConnell would be an even bigger disaster.
Of course, he doesn't have HIS reelection locked up by any means either, so who's up next? Paul? Cruz? MCCAIN? Jesus wept.

I didn't say it was going to get any better. The only thing that will fix this mess is.....
politician + tree + rope.
Some assembly required.
Jesus would probably assist.

Jeff Bridges has shown his in his involvement with the No Kid Hungary program, that he understands w the struggles of Americans. That includes Montana Kids.
There is lot going on in Park Countyyhat indicate that "stars" like Bridges are involved politically to keep clean Water, lean air an helping people feed their kids and the elderly, programs like fishes and loaves.

Just to stir the pot in this 90+ degree heat. Should a movie actor be named, many, but few on here would prefer Jon Voight.
:lol

Jeff Bridges' involvement with A Place at the Table shows that he is far more in touch with the level of poverty in America and problem-solving the issues than Daines' voting record and action have.
Daines has proven time and again that he has thrown his hat in with the Suicide Caucus (did we all forget SO SOON the havoc caused by the shutdown that accomplished nothing but bad debt/overdrafts for Federal employees and lost productivity and profits??? I remember the cries of "don't forget about his behavior come November!"...) and with the extreme Right Wing. We've had great GOP Senators and Reps before... but Daines is NOT negotiating and voting for the benefits of Montanans, he's behind the negative fringe. Memories are apparently short-lived around these parts.
I would encourage anyone who cares about the plight of the average American and the problem of food insecurity in our OWN communities, to please give A Place at the Table a watch.

Good idea + vote + ballot box will always trump a tea party bigot and his invitation to a lynching as fair time approaches.

"Good idea + vote + ballot box"
That's a great idea when the people who are elected follow the laws the rest of us are required to obey, but when that stops working, Joe, what's the next step?
You tell me.
Another Hollywood actor? We already have 535+9+1 acting like they give a s**t now.
How much more acting can we stand?

We can have that discussion on two conditions, Oddjob:
1. You finally step out from behind that pseudonym and introduce yourself to this community by your full legal name and place of residence.
2. You publicly apologize to this community for staining the conversation with the subject of lynching. To my knowledge, no one talked about nooses when George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford or Richard Nixon was president. Thus, my statement about bigotry.
If you're prepared to do those two things, we'll talk.

The conversation was about dealing with those in a position of power who ignore the laws the rest of us are required to follow, when the ballot box fails to be a solution.
But since we are not having that conversation, I guess you don't have to worry about trying to defend the indefensible.
Name-calling aside, you are an intelligent man and smart enough to figure out the position you had staked out. Predictably, you decided to change the subject to something irrelevant and go for the "drop the pseudonym" tactic.
The "drop the pseudonym" whine is nothing more than a dodge to avoid answering a question, that only seems to be trotted out for the likes of "tea party bigots". It's never demanded here from those who support the atheist or socialist agendas.
I assume most of the people who post here use them to shield themselves from the barrage of verbal abuse and labeling that inevitably issues from that quarter when the attempt at rational debate fails.
Granville Stewart had a problem with thieves stealing his cattle. The people of Bannock had a problem with a Sheriff, moonlighting as a road agent. They worked it out. A growing number of citizens have a problem with politicians who have made themselves election-proof, stealing their money, liberty and security and saddling future generations to the slavery of an oppressive government.
I'll ask again; what are their options?

Dear oddjob -
procreate you, and your fascist vigilante fantasies as well.
The lynch mob and the 'committee for safety' are tools for grudge settling and theft, and have no place in a country that's supposedly governed by the rule of law.
If you must masturbate to such fever dreams, at least be decent enough to do it elsewhere.

Oddjob wrote:"I assume most of the people who post here use them to shield themselves from the barrage of verbal abuse and labeling..."
My observation is it takes a lot more courage to be a "liberal" in Miles City, Montana, than a "conservative". I'm not aware of any nooses turning up at Democratic Party events.
Posted by (+186) 8 years ago
You find the topic offensive? Is it equally as offensive as the profane and obscene fantasies of a "final solution" for Republicans, Conservatives and "Tea-baggers", which appear here on a regular basis as a common and acceptable retort from a particular faction?
Posted by (+9506) 8 years ago
If by 'final solution' you mean 'grow old and die already', then I guess I fully support mother nature's plan.
Otherwise, this is simply more paranoid ranting by an avowed insurrectionist.

Just to set the record straight, and to ruffle a few feathers on this discussion.
On the subject, of nooses and lynching, one has to go back to 1865 when the Ku Klux Klan was founded as a terrorist arm of the Democratic party, targeting Blacks and Republicans. Has the KKK vanished from the scene?

Oh for f's sake.
How do they vote today? I bet you've voted in common with them more often then not in the last 50 years. You should be proud.
Eat your goddamned prions, they're good for you.

Bridgier,
One of your old classmates describes you as being very smart.
Comprehension skills are important to digest what you read and to fully understand the context of the posts.
In this case the topic was nooses and lynching. While the KKK founded in 1865 is a little older than the above mentioned vigilante hanging of sheriff Henry Plummer and Granville Stuart's stranglers, the topics are the same.
BTW, thanks for the diet suggestion. I have some for you but will not post them here.

In 1865 the Democrat Party was conservative.
I have to believe that Ike knows this. Though explaining how the KKK was a terrorist offshoot of the Democratic Party would make it appear that he does not. Or, he's just trying to rile up the ones who really don't know the difference. Slow day, Ike?
Posted by (+9506) 8 years ago
I guess I'm not seeing the larger context here Ike - vigilantism is murder. The dixiecrats left the democratic party in 1948 over the anti-lynching plank in the party platform, and the final realignment began in 1965 with the passage of the civil rights act.
The fact that the montana state police uses the '7-7-77' icon on their uniforms is.. odd.
There's no cure for kuru.
As an aside, I wonder where if any of the true american patriots who felt compelled to stand with Cliven Bundy against the jackbooted thugs are heading to Ferguson Missouri this morning?

Mary B,
Go to Google on your browser, type in Democrat party and the KKK. It may speed up your day.

Ike, old pal.
Willfull ignorance is not an attractive trait, my bestest pal.
You also need some work on your trolling technique.

In 1865 the Democratic Party was the Party of the KKK, Jim Crow and lynching.
It still is. Ask any Black (Conservative-Republican-Libertarian).
Here's a trip down memory lane.
