Dollar Tree Management

I don't know who manages the store here in town, but I am not impressed! I was shopping the other day and was in line to check out, when the store manager showed up went to the office and started yelling from the office (door was closed)at the cashier. Evidently the cashier had enough as she quit right on the stop. I am not in management, nor do I know the situations, but shouldn't she have pulled her aside and talked with her? Not with a long line of people waiting to check out. How professional is she??? I have heard many complaints about the store manager and employees leaving because of her....kinda sad as the store seems to be busy. I have never had any other problems, cashiers are always helpful and friendly. I sure hope we don't end up loosing another business in town.

Seems like it was just yesterday when the town was all abuzz with excitement for the grand opening of the dollar tree, but now it appears the bloom is off the rose.

Couple of thoughts here:

Guess the problem isn't confined to Walmart

It IS a dollar store and you get what you pay for. If you're expecting Dillard's type (nine nine please) customer service in a Dollar store... you have unrealistic expectations.

Blame it on the Bakken stealing all the good labor. Once that manager finds out there's an opening for a diesel mechanic in Williston she'll be gone in no time.

Doesn't matter what the name of the store or type of the store nobody should be treating others that way. Oh, found out she was a Walmart employee.

I suppose you complained to the manager about her indiscreetness as you are doing here. Is due process in order?

Things a Dollar Tree Manager should do better:

1. When yelling at the cashier from the office, open the door so the idiot can understand you better.

2. Quit yelling at the stupid cashier every time the doofus asks for a price check.

3. Stock up on the earplugs for the customers!

4. Order 100 “MYOB Patty” t-shirts.

5. Order a new “Loosen it or lose it” poster.

6. Don’t renew the team building seminar with Neil from M&H.

7. Hire Freddy from Big Sky.

8. Don’t take a drink from a jug with Jett written on it.

9. Never again tell an employee that my door is always open.

10. Don’t do employee reviews from the other room.

As I think Dollar Tree is a necessity in Miles City this upsets me. Anything to take money from Walmart! The people who manage the stores in Billings are all really nice. So I sent the link to this forum to Dollar Tree corporate. Will be interesting to see if they respond.

As being a x employee of the Dollar Tree, the manager does not know her job..... And almost everyone who was there from the beginning have quit .... And that is mainly because of the Management........

As an ex employee I have seeen things like manager's fighting in the office as I'm at the register helping customers n then asking if they realize that they could hear them arguing. After they realized that they went 15 ft from the front outside and continue. I personally like having the dollar tree here in miles city but upper management needs to get good ppl in there. Most of us that opened that store have left due to the drama and backstabbing by the management. This store is going to last if this keeps up. Something needs to b done. Three managers walked out cause of the store manager. She has no management skills if she did it b a miracle

I too am an ex-employee. I agree that most of us that opened the store have left. I personally left because they would not work around my appointment that I had prior to getting hired. During the interview I even told the manager that I would not be able to come into work that day. I personally feel that those of us that started got puked on to put it nicely. Most stores have a set up team so the workers don't have to do it, this way any employee training that needed to be could be done. Not the day before opening. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Miles City lost this business, since we no longer have the Dollar Plus up on Main St.

I just read in the Denver Post that the Dollar Tree owner is a billionaire. Must be a lot of pressure to make a profit there.

Sweet jesus, not the Dollar Plus!

Also, I always assumed Jett was a dude, is this not true? Or am I merely misreading his/her float?

I assumed Jett was a woman. Maybe I'm thinking Joan Jett.

Whether the owner is a billionaire or not has nothing to do with the need to make a profit. It's more to do with things like, oh, unimportant stuff like making payroll and paying the heat & light bill and stuff.
