Members wander about town, peering over fences and whatnot, then decide. It's pretty informal.

You can turn in nominations if you want. We look for color, design and interesting themes. It also needs to be visible from the street, so people don't have to peek through fences to see it. If the people or the address has received the yard of the week in the last three years they are not eligible, although that does get missed a time or two. The numbers are listed in the paper. Mine is: 852-0540

We welcome any and all suggestions for the yards. We also welcome new members if anyone is interested. We are a very active group and have alot of fun. Come join us.

The garden club stopped by today,
They surveyed my yard but didn't stay,
Except for one who kissed a pink.
"You could do a lot better than this," she said. I think,
I know exactly what this garden needs.
A lot more flowers and a lot fewer weeds.
That's all she really had to say.
With Swallowtail disdain,
She quietly flitted away.

I wrote this in 2011 after five butterflies flitted through my back yard.
