What if we could do a throw-back to more innocent times and set aside one day a week where kids could go to the park and join a game of baseball, softball, soccer, basketball... whatever. No contracts. No set practicing schedule. No pressure. No judgment. No discrimination. No having to tell your kid "I just can't afford it."
There is probably forgotten sporting equipment in garages all over town that could be put to good use if donated to such an undertaking. I know I am not the person to put it together, I can't even walk into my son's school without the walls closing in and losing my breath. I can however think random thoughts and put them out into the world.

Do it. You and your son start. Invite the neighborhood kids. Probably on a Wednesday night since organized sports encompass the rest.

Personally I am on a mission to limit the technology that my kids use each day, so our goals are indirectly related.

Good luck.
