My son has one of the original playstation 3 60gb machines on which he can play his playstation 2 and 3 CD games.(games not downloaded, came in box). It has finally died after all these years. Is it possible to still purchase this machine or one that will still allow him to play these games. Amazon has Playstation 3 320gb or 160gb but my son does not think these are compatible with his play2 games.Any help greatly appreciated.

Mine died as well w/ a red screen of death. It was a "slim" model, but AFAIK the newer PS3 models (like it) can't play PS2 games. I think only the earlier "non-slim" PS3 models with 80GB or less can do that. I would assume someone on eBay is still selling the older ones.
