If you have been anyplace other than the dark side of the moon this past two weeks, you are aware of the Super Bowl. Enjoy it. I will be watching from Denver, Colorado, home of the Broncos and my home town. Someone will win, someone will lose. The winners will all get a ring. the last I read, one came up for auction with a starting bid of $10,00.00 and the hammer fell at $52,000.00. Even at ten grand X fifty rings that's a half a million bucks.
With that drop in the bucket think about; ticket sales, cost of transportation for spectators and teams, commercial revenue, concessions, apparel, on and on ad nauseum. Hundreds of millions of dollars will be spent, generated and spun around this game.
The teams are made up of a cross section of America. There will be regular guys, good guys, bad guys, talented athletes, egocentric guys, spoiled brats, criminals and thugs. They are all paid to play this game.
Regardless of who you are rooting for, remember, it's just a game. It will not make you a better person should your team win. Regardless of the outcome, it does not give you the right to destroy property. It will do nothing to heal the sick, feed the hungry, house the homeless or care for the elderly. It is a game. Enjoy it, have a party, have fun, eat too much, if you drink too much, don't drive. Tomorrow there
will be another game.
