It's here now -> mcty.co <-. I've been rewriting the code and just got it working fairly well today. You have to login using your MilesCity.com Account info to get it going.

Well, the description of the Bucking Horse Sale is dead wrong on practically everything but it is nice to see the notice.

All of the information in the description was taken directly from the Bucking Horse Sale website.

Amorette,
Besides the reference to the Miles City Roundup, just what are you referring to when you said "the description of the Bucking Horse Sale is dead wrong on practically everything"? It does appear that they were mining information from the history page off of our website, which says:
"There are rodeos and then there are rodeos. The World Famous Miles City Bucking Horse Sale is in a category by itself. In fact, many rodeos have their roots right here in Miles City, as the Bucking Horse Sale annually debuts some of the finest bucking stock seen on the continent. Held the third full weekend in May each year, the BHS offers a special brand of rodeo action born right here in S.E. Montana.
The Bucking Horse Sale celebrated its 50th anniversary in May 2000. Some of the best bucking stock in the nation have been showcased in Miles City since 1914, when the Miles City Roundup began. Today, top rodeo contractors come here to buy the stock they will use to entertain millions of Americans in years to come. The classic confrontations between cowboy and bronc start Friday evening and by the time Sunday afternoon draws to a close, several hundred ornery critters have given their first indications of whether or not they will join the bronc hall of fame with the likes of SkyRocket, High Roll, Big John, Dark Journey and Jake.
Still, there is much more to this annual extravaganza which celebrates the spring and escorts in the summer. Besides excellent bronc and bareback riding, the Bucking Horse Sale also offers a Thursday night concert, Friday night bull riding, pari-mutuel horse racing on Saturday and Sunday, the BHS Trade Exposition, a street dance on Friday and Saturday nights with 3 different bands playing all at once, a Saturday morning parade, lots of area entertainment and a Match Bronc Ride on Sunday that features some of the top saddle bronc riders in the world!
Please check the 'Schedule' link for a full list of activities.
Miles Citians pride themselves on being "The Friendliest Town in the West." Attend this year's BHS and find out why."
We would certainly want to know what isn't correct...
Thanks,

Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the Miles City Roundup celebrates the best of rodeo competition. The roundup is part of the Bucking Horse Sale (May 15-18),
The Miles City Roundup in NOT celebrating its 100th anniversary, since it stopped back in the fifties. There was some overlap between the two, with both the Roundup and the Bucking Horse Sale (which was just the sale in those days, no parade etc.) occurring in the same year but they were NEVER the same event. For one thing, the Roundup took place over the Fourth of July and involved a professional rodeo in its later versions. I only read two sentences and one of them was wrong.

Well I hope you read more than two sentences out of the Bible or you could get the wrong idea on that one too.Just ribbing you Amorette.A few, well quite a few years back,I saw where some major magazine ranked St.Patrick`s Day in Butte as one of the top 10 parties in the U.S.Hard to believe good ole MC beat out all of that good clean family fun to be had in Butte on St.Patrick`s especially with the rich history of the town and its still standing whorehouses which one is a museum now I hear.Brings to mind the old joke. What is 2 miles long and has an IQ of 17.The St.Patrick`s Day parade in Butte Mt.I have also seen several write ups on paddlefishing in Montana but now that seems to be taken over by outsiders and many of the locals or surrounding area people have quit the sport. That will never happen with the bucking horse sale as there is room to expand and I don`t think Budweiser will ever run out of beer.

I just read what was posted here and didn't follow the link. I have actually read quite a bit of the Bible, more, I think, than a lot of folks who quote it all the time.
Still, IT is fun that the BHS got national mention over all the 'pretty' stuff in the western end of the state.

Does anyone remember the Endurance Race from Jordan to Miles City, (in the late 1940's) that opened the Miles City Roundup? They only lasted about three years, I think.....

Amorette,
Evidently you didn't read my post very carefully either - the very first sentence addressed the Miles City Roundup issue. I was more interested in what you were referring to in the "dead wrong on practically everything" comment on your first post. From that comment, I take it that there are numerous other things wrong.. What are they?

I read two sentences. One was wrong. I did not click through. Okay? Okay.
Posted by (+346) 9 years ago
There was no "click-through"... The entire CNN blurb was the 3 sentences that Larry put in his post. Okay? Okay..

Maybe Amorette was noting they forgot to mention the "Beating a Dead Horse" competition in their review of the Bucking Horse Sale. Sheesh. Keep up the good work representing the BHS on the public forums, John.

One of those three was dead wrong. That's it. Hardly worth getting worked up about. I am sorry my noting the mistake upset you so much but I am a bit obsessive-compulsive about certain aspects of history.
I hope no one calls the chamber wanting tickets to the Roundup! You would need a Tardis.

I think the BHS got some good coverage and exposure.Feel free to argue with me on that statement.
