According to the American Pie Council, January 23 is National Pie Day.

What kind of pie will you bake to commemorate the occasion?

I’m thinking I’ll go with sour cream-raisin and maybe apple or cherry to keep it company. Pecan would be good, but I don’t know if I can any shipped in by the 23rd.

I love pie. As has been mentioned before, my SIL makes some d*mn fine pie.

Maybe a nice free-form apple with marmalade glaze.

Its a sad reality that first I had a mother, then a wife, who both bake killer pies. Hence my stunted baking skills.

I am old and cagey enough to know never to ask for a pie, just accept them as good kharma when they do come around.
