That's because there really is no Alaska, Hal. You are only a computer construct living in a cube that sits on Capt. Picard's desk.
Or, alternatively, because internet connectivity in Alaska is so terrible, they'd have to invent a new color to do it justice.

On plus side gas prices dropped when the last fuel barge of the year hit port. Gas is now $6.67 in our Village : -)

I get faster speeds on my phone, in the can, in a basement, of a bomb shelter, during Superbowl, during a Net outage than Miles City.
