Just in case you missed the article in the Miles City Star by Elaine Forman:
The former Basque coffee shop Kafe Utza will go Scottish when it reopens Monday as the McElrath Caife at 19 S. Ninth St., adjacent to Great Grains. Great Grains owner Scott Elder bought the business from Kara Browning. "It's just another way to expand," Elder said. Elder's original last name is McElrath, and in time the shop will take on more of a Scottish flavor. He has lots of ideas for the shop, but "the coffee part needs to prove itself first." Browning will provide the on-site roasting, so it'll be the Kafe Utza Coffee. Elder said the drink menu will be the same. There will be sweet and savory biscotti, breads, scones and muffins. "When we get good at everything, we'll offer her (Kara's) signature orange rolls that she was famous for," he said. Browning had created a well-loved establishment, and Elder said, "It's definitely exciting to provide the old service and meeting ground." He has other plans, but for nowl he is starting small. There will be one employee, and Elder plans to hire a second one later.
The hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
