We'd like to throw off the yoke of cable TV and am considering using Hulu. I'd like to know what the user experience is like. We would like to go through an ipad hooked up to the TV. Has anyone out there done that?

I have used Hulu for several years now and I love it! You are more limited on shows when using an IPad or phone, I currently have my laptop connected to our TV. You get full access of shows on the computer.

You'll need to subscribe to Hulu Plus to view on a Roku. We love ours.

However, as mentioned, there are some titles on Hulu via your browser (computer) that are not available via Roku. In as much as they both bring the Hulu subscription into your home through the internet the Hulu system can detect the difference between a computer's browser and a set-top box (like Apple TV, Roku, etc.). Those boxes have some things blocked.

We cut the cable a couple years ago and between Netflix, Hulu+ and Amazon there's pretty much plenty to watch. Just keep an eye open for if your internet provider likes to either throttle your connection (slow it down) or cap your data usage. You could find yourself with crappy "reception" or just a big overcharge on your bill.

How will you watch Denver Broncos Football? It's the only reason to own a TV.

There must be a difference between Hulu and Hula. Boy was I mislead on this thread.

Between Netflix and Hulu, I don't miss cable at all. We have both Apple TV and roku because they each offer features the other doesn't. Both have Hulu, however.

My only concern is that the only place to get HBO is cable. Three of the six or seven shows I watch regularly are there.

Hulu is usually pretty good about getting shows to stream and I loved my Roku when I had it. I'm just going to say you can get every show by simply, if you were inclined to ahem....eschew paid routes, as well as most box office hits. I would never suggest piracy by streaming your favorite shows. I mean icefilms with their hd and dvd quality shows or new movie releases would never be an option for law abiding citizens like you and me. Just like we would never consider projectfreetv or sidereel.com for their constantly updated tv shows or handy notifications when your shows come out.
