Rib & Chop House lies
Posted by Noelle (+66) 6 years ago
Just thought every one should know this. Don't bother applying at the Rib & Chop House. You won't be getting anywhere near the wage that it says in the ad in the paper. My husband worked there for a year and was only getting $8.50 an hour. He talked to the manager about getting a raise since they were offering $10 an hour for dishwashers and he was pretty much told he will never get a raise. He said the ad was just to get warm bodies in the door and that he could hire someone dumber off the street and pay them less. He would rather burn through dishwashers than pay them more.

I am simply outraged that anyone would dare lie to a dishwasher.

Thank you so much. I almost applied there. I would have wasted my time.

One option would be to slow down the rate of dishes washed per hour to essentially increase your husbands rate per clean dish. For example, if he's washing approximately 120 dishes per hour now to equal the $8.50 per hour rate, that would mean he's washing about 2 plates per minute. At 8.50 per hour, that's just over .14 cents per minute or about 7 cents per dish. If your husband slows down to washing 60 plates per hour (a gross decrease to emphasize the result and because it's easier to calculate), then he would be washing dishes at the rate of just over 14 cents per dish, which is a 100% increase in his rate of pay!

He gets twice as much. It's all a matter of perspective.

By all means, slowing down would pay him more per dish. Perhaps He should start to organize a restaurant workers union. As Joe Hill use to say, 'Don't complain. Organize!" ( Paraphrased.)

I hear there are plenty of dishwashing jobs in Williston that pay $20 an hour.

You do know, when you stand up in front of a crowd and say something, you get a bunch of different responses and opinions in return? Right?

Grandkids wanted to go eat at Rib & Chop so we went last Saturday.

Wonderful waitress. After that it was all downhill.

Horribly slow to get our food. As my granddaughter said..."Grandma, that's why I bring my toys to play with. They are always slow."

Then got two wonderful pieces of dark curly hair in the salad and ranch dressing.

Then got HUGE baked potatoes on plates that were smaller than the potatoes. Yep...fell off right onto the floor while attempting to pull the foil back.

Our waitress did her best to apologize...repeatedly. I felt sorry for her. And gave her a good tip for her efforts. But won't go back to eat there again.

Last time I was there, we got quick service and great food. No, it isn't fast food. If you want fast food, go to a fast food restaurant. I was impressed with how quickly we were served after we ordered.
You cannot judge a restaurant by one experience--unless you get food poisoning.

We've been there repeatedly. Like someone else said, it's not fast food. My 3 girls, ages 9, 9, and 6 seem to be able to handle the wait just fine. We've only ever had a problem with our food once. No restaurant is perfect. There will always be a time when there is a problem. If they fixed it then great. If not, there in lies the real problem. They have good food, excellent service. I have no idea what they pay. There is an abundance of jobs here in Miles City, if you're willing to work. I happen to know the Sleep Inn and Town Pump gas station are short staffed and have been looking to hire for a while. Here in this town it really is true that if you don't like your job you can quit and go down the road to make the same or more than you're making now.

Ive eaten there several times, their food has always been amazing and fulfilling, yes there have been times where service has been slow, but 9/10 times there are usually packed with a very long waiting list...but its worth it in my opinion!

We have eaten there several times and find the service excellent and the food always very good. The waiters/waitresses I think do an awesome job, always put customer first. Whenever we want to eat out we always consider where to go and always go back to Rib & Chop, unless of course we want Mexican and then we go to Mexico Lindo!

This a fine example of way the forum section of this this website is a complete waste of time. I really wish most of you would loose the ability to type. Some of you think you are so much better and smarter than everyone. I'm sure none of you are comedians, but you sure think are funny with a keyboard in your hands. If you have an opinion and it's relevant to the conversation please feel free and state it, but if you just want to bash someone please go to the closes mirror and knock yourself out. Just my 2 cents

Why don't you take your own advice and find a relevant place to shove your worthless 2 cents? This website started as a forum and will remain as a forum, the webmaster was just doing you a favor when he gave you another place to advertise your poop for free. Go suck one.

Considering how full their parking lot is all the time tells me that something is going right.

Of course it will happen where someone at sometime is going to experience less than optimal service. That happens everywhere, but I don't think that one or two peoples negative outlook due to one visit is reflective on the business as a whole.

or for those that say this happens all the time they go there, or there, and sometime there, then why do you go there?

my family have stopped and eaten at this place.

Once.

because I wont give a place like that a second chance.
the service was poor, and slow. and we were not in a crowded place.
when the food finally arrived, it was of poor quality and trying to get the servers attention was impossible.
My family was in the business, so I know how a customer should be treated.

We have pretty much stopped eating at places in Miles City.
the only sure thing we get is disappointment.

Sweet! Sounds like a spot just opened up!

My family of 10 ate there the weekend of our 20yr graduation and had absolutely no problems with service and/or food. Defiantly plan on going back again and again!

Actually, they were all of three syllables or less, so I'm not sure if 'big' is being used in a purely objective manner here.
