we are pleased and shocked to announce the birth of a baby donkey that was born last night after midnight so it is a july 4th baby...didn't know she was preggers...LOL...Mom is a tiny little grey donkey....

thanks all...sure is an adorable baby...mom won't let us near yet to inspect what it is but it is running about the pasture and suckling OK...so far so good...

News Flash....Turns out little Indy is a he not a she...but at least the name works for both genders...Just will have to have the little fellow cut before he gets old enough to breed his pasture mates including his mom...plus a jack breeding a horse usually scares the horse right thru the fence as they breed at a dead run while screaming at the top of their lungs...thus most breeders for mules are bred "AI", I have been told..
