LOVE to eat at Main Street Grind when our family gets to town...but, what has happened to the people that owned it? I miss their friendly faces and always so welcoming and kind.
The last time we went and ate there, I must say the food was very good and my coffee was excellent, too----but, the whole atmosphere was very different and the place looked dirty compared to before.
The help was not friendly, which was very sad to me as before the help was very accomodating. It was as if the crew all changed up.
I understand changing owners and it can take some time to get adjusted----but, I am heartbroken to feel the change.
This is such a wonderful business for Miles City and I just hope it gets its mo-jo back. Such a lovely building, just hate to see the floors and glass cases look dirty and the help so unfriendly.
PLEASE, new owners----take note and keep Main Street Grind top notch as it once was. (food and coffee was still very good)!

In order for a restaurant to serve good food they need people to bake the food and have it ready for sale. I have been there many times in the past when there was little left for sale in the case. I watched one day as someone tried to buy a pastry and was told by a man behind the counter that they couldn't buy it as they were saving it for the next day!

They also started shutting down the place over half an hour before they were to close. They would have the chairs all set up on the tables. If you went in to get a drink or a cookie they would mop all around you and give you sharp glares trying to get you to leave.

You have said the food is excellent. First part of the problem solved. I would guess the reason the two mentioned are no longer there has something to do with the fact that before you couldn't get food a lot of the time!

As for the rest I would rather have a dirty case that needs to be cleaned after the shop closes than a wet mop going in circles around my feet while I am eating and drinking.

My name is Jeremy Loomis, and I am the new Store Manager of the Main Street Grind. I would first like to say thank you for all of the compliments by everyone on this forum. I would also like to apolgize personally for the other things mentioned. I am sad to say that in an effort to maintain food quality and quantity along with hiring and training a largely new staff i failed to maintain the excellent standard of cleanliness and customer service our customers have grown to know in the last 3 years. I would also like to let you know that my focus will now be solely on having myself and my staff keeping this place cleaner and exhibiting a friendly atmosphere for our customers along with maintaining the quality of our food. I thank you for your patience and kind words and I look forward to serving you in the future.

Thank you, Jeremy! What a great response! I just hate to complain and don't get on this forum to often, but---LOVE the Main Street Grind and just noticed the change.
Like I mentioned before, it must be very difficult to start anew and I wish you the very best as you move forward as manager.
I look forward to meeting you when I come in. It is such a awesome and unique building along with great food---I just hated to see such changes as it has always had wonderful employees. A real asset to MC Mainstreet! Again, thank you, Jeremy!

it takes a good manager to admit fault and correct it...Good for you Jeremy...must have been horrid to have to fire relatives so I commend the owner for his integrity in business quality and not allowing the customers to suffer...

I think it's sad that you came on a public forum to voice your opinion. A simple phone call to The Main Street Grind asking to speak to the manager would have been the nice way of voicing your opinion. Jeremy you are doing a great job with what you have been given, and your response on here is very sincere. I just find it sad that people can't call and talk or go and ask to speak to a manager and have a one on one conversation with someone.

Destiny and Levi--this is what a public forum is all about---expressing your opinion---just like you did.
I think I was very kind in my words to Jeremy--I don't live right in town and I want you to know I "did" in fact call to talk to a manager twice and he was not available to speak with. I am not a evil type person--just wanted answers as I noticed a big change and I got answers by coming here to this public forum.
Everything was fine and then you opened another can of worms by expressing yourself (which is your right)---just as it was mine.

Wishing Jeremy and Main Street Grind all the best!

I would just love to comment on ths so for who ever this person may be you must have a personal vendetta against Megan and Pete. But thanks for your opinion is was very rude! Megan and Pete worked so hard to make the Main Street grind what it is today yes it can be slow but it takes more then one person to run a sandwich line it was not their fault when the lunch rush was slow they did have 8 other employees.if it wasn't for them you wouldn't have the bread for you sandwiches that Pete went in at 4am to bake every other day and yes they were fired because Rick who is Megans father is a very greedy business man and would rather pocket money then to pay them to manage. So that's why they are no longer there. Not because they were slow or bad employees. Yes this may be overboard but I know Peter and Megan very well and will defend the truth. It is sad the grind isn't what it use to be hopefully Rick will realize having a good employee is worth the extra money.

Zac05---not sure whom you are talking about? I came on this forum to say how much I missed the "old" Grind when Pete and Megan were there.
I have no idea what took place but, I agree with you and have no personal vendetta against Pete and Megan---I loved the place when they were managers (i thought they owned it).
Anyway, I apologize if I even remotely gave you that idea. I complained about how much the place has changed up with out them.

I think you need to read this from the beginning. Wishing all involved the best---NO personal vendetta at all in anyway!!!

Destiny is dead on here. If you have a concern about something the polite action to take is to keep the "issue" between you and the person and/or organization with whom you have the concern. If you have done that and the issue isn't resolved then perhaps ask the "community" if they have noticed the same thing. Being interrogative in these situations ALWAYS works better than being indicative or exclamatory.

Of course, I realize the MC.com way is to tele-phone, tele-graph, or tell a woman... tell everyone but the person with whom you really ought to be talking.

End of rant.

I usually find there are three sides....
her side, his side, and the truth which is somewhere in the middle...

I was in The Grind twice last week the first time I had to wait for my coffee because someone who was not an employee was making a coffee for themselfs. The second time I was in there watched the owner with no gloves on fingering and eating the bacon that goes on sandwiches. I don't care if you own the place or not you don't stick your unwashed hands into the food your going to sell to your costomers. And yes I know his hands were unwashed because I watched him walk from the front of the counter to behind the counter.

I am an employee of the main street grind. My fellow employees I are always trying to bring the best service to our customers, as well as a clean comfortable environment. I'm sorry that the change in management has caused an effect on our service, we are working with an almost entirely new staff, which causes it to be difficult to maintain the quality and speed our customers are used to, things will get better! Please don't give up on the grind because it hit a bump. thank you all for posting, we cannot fix a problem we are unaware of, these posts, have caused us to, amp up our effort to return to our previous state of excellence. I myself will try harder to deliver the service desired by our customers. Thank You Have A Great Day!
