Bobby, with all due respect your responses are very ignorant.
The Rapists and thugs have been and are being dealt with. Several have been arrested. One of the alleged, Jordan Johnson the former quarterback, is currently standing trial. The others have been dismissed from the football team and expelled from the university. The Head Football coach was fired (and tonight was named the new Offensive Coordinator at Weber State) as was the Athletic Director...you make it sound as though nothing was done to address the problem and that is not true.
When I was a student at UM in the late-80's-early-90's, I know there was a program run by ASUM (Associated Students of the U or M, which is their student government) which staffed people to safely escort female students from one building to another when they needed to get around campus. This was being done at the time to help address the concern about rape and, as I recall, was pretty effective...don't know if that program still exists, though...maybe it does?
