don't want to name it, but you probably know where

Walking in to a local restaraunt, waiting to be seated while two employees walk by without a greeting, after a few minutes we were offered a table for 2 but only 1 chair! hmmmm that's OK, I'll get my own chair! We ordered 2 sodas and when the waitress put them down on the table she asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't as we were just given menus! But she stood tableside for a minute waiting, then told us we have to order now because they closed soon. Too bad she didn't tell us that before we were shown to a table with 1 chair. So we ordered burgers, which didn't require an extra minute to read the menu. A few more minutes go by and our food was brought to the table, the waitress asked if we would like anything else. Yes, we asked for a refill on the soda and mustard for my burger.
Our waitress walked away, then walked by the table a few more times (glaring at us), but still no soda or mustard.
After eating part of my burger and sitting for a few minutes I had to go ask the waitress for our bill and a carryout container (I had mustard and a coke at home to enjoy with the rest of my burger, and no one to glare at me there!)
The waitress put the bill on the table and stood there waiting for payment. Needless to say, husband handed her the money, with .75 to spare and we walked out! Never will return to the place, although the food was good.
I am airing my grievance as a 17year foodservice manager of front end staff (cashiers, host, wait, bar and bus staff) at a very hotsy totsy restaraunt. Shame on those waitresses! The glares and nasty looks on their way by our table (although there were a few other tables still seated), promptness of greeting and seating, and then shown to a table with only 1 chair, no follow up although we asked for refills and condiments, standing tableside panting as husband counted money for the bill.
The only thing I got from our first visit to that restaraunt was heatburn! If I knew who owned or managed the place I would definitely suggest a sign at the door with the hours posted. 'Closed at 2' or 'Serving until 2' would have made a big difference to us! The attitude and gruff service scares customers from ever coming back to give the place another shot.
Waitresses and Waiters everywhere: YOU make or break the dining experience !!!! Good staff can make lousy food enjoyable, and good food great! Because, it isn't all about the food, it's the experience that folks remember. Too bad, because it could have been a good meal if I only got my mustard!

You should have ordered the squab. I hear it's very tender.

Glad to see someone else enjoys mustard as much as I do.

Back in the day Chuck Littleton used to call out from the Hardees kitchen, "Mustard man!", when I walked through the front door.

I don't think its the Iron Horse...

See the reference above to "squab." And google the definition of squab if need be.

I think the reference to "closing or serving until 2" may have also been a hint...

If they are referring to the 600 cafe that sucks cause that's a first that I've heard of that kinda service there even if it is close to closing. Anyways thanks for the hints I missed that some how

I live in New Mexico. We went to a cafe here where I ordered Mexican food, (my Fav) and the waitress brought me a cold corn tortilla with a burnt hamburger patty laying on top and a frozen cheese enchilada! (with the ice still on it) All you can do is laugh!

I'm not gonna lie, some of the wait staff at "the restaurant that closes at 2pm" definately could use a new attitude. A few of them seem to despise the fact that they are at work, and others have a really dry sense of humor. I have learned to adjust. I love the food, best soup and salad bar in town!
