I'm told this is Jessie Click's first grade class at Lincoln School in the 1960-1961 school year. My fathead big brother Chuck is in the photo someplace.

I'm told that the girl two places to Susan Mathers' right is Rhonda Howe. I know a lot of folks around my age had her mom, Mrs. (Vi) Howe, for a preschool teacher.

Mrs. Click was retired by the time I got to school but I did shovel her sidewalk and mow her lawn in her later years. She was Mrs. Roy Alexander at that time.

By that age Mrs. Click/Alexander had very poor eyesight. When it came time to pay me she would hold out a paper bill and ask if it was a one or a five. Similar story for quarters and nickels. I always figured she was just testing me so I never lied to her.

Chuck must be the one who looks like he just finished sniffing glue.

It was paste back in the day, and we ate it. I'll buy a beer for the person who gets it right next time I'm in town, maybe two if I like you.

Chuck, is that Robin R on the far right? Alan Scanlan in the center with the glasses?

That's what Chuck told me, Hal. Robin Rhoads on the far right in the plaid shirt, Alan Scanlan just right of center with the glasses, and Loren Dalke with his collar buttoned tight between Rhonda Howe and Susan Mathers.

Hal,

You are correct sir, you I won't mind loosing to but hold off for a day or two. Allan Scanland ran Michael Jackson's Never Land ranch carnival operations up until MJ died, He could still be doing the same thing for the Jackson family.

If sister Sally still checks in maybe she can give us an update.

How you doing Hal? Larry Brun sends his best wishes.

Jimmy Brown is in the back row on the right of the tall girl with the short bangs. I remember because he always told Donnie and I how we had to get Mrs. Click or 1st grade would be horrible. Later he said he thought she was 'mean' and wanted us to get her too. I don't know if she was 'mean' as we both had Mrs. Keating and she was 'Nice'!

Okay Chuck, we'll see who comes up with the prize winning answer.

I would not have guessed that was Dalke.

Tell Larry "Howdy" for me.

Nancy, I was thinking that could be Jim. I keep think I know who the tall girl is - but the answer / memory just isn't coming to me.

This reminds me of the countless times Mrs. Keating would advise us to "go to the cloakroom and get our wraps on". I enjoy using the term "wrap" with my kids today. My 17 year old has pleaded with me to not use that term in earshot of her friends.

Wrapping, not rapping.

Hal, A little memory help Deloris Clendenton. Can you pick Joe Kelly out, I'm not sure but I think he is in the photo.

Joe? Man, it's hard to say. They all have square heads. Maybe the 3rd boy (standing) from the left?

I didn't transfer from Washington to Lincoln until partway through 3rd grade, so of course I remember everyone as being far more mature and grown up than the "kids" in this photo.

I think it's boy in the dark shirt, squinting with large head doors open full. And the kid next to Robin is Kelly Babcock who used to post on this happy site every once and awhile.

John Combs is the little guy sitting up front, Billy Sanderson plaid shirt behind those sitting left center.

How about Dale Kisson, he was in grade school with me but I can't remember when he came along and I think I could pick him out. No Jim Burnette and I know he should be around because we used to fight every other day except for the occasional day I saved for Kelly. With all that beating it's a miracle I'm still almost flawless.

Yeah I was looking for Jim B. and not seeing him. Wondering about Terry Stone, Rick Neese and Larry Matthews too, but then not everyone would have been in the same class.

Kison was probably still at Highland Park then.

I always hated this picture of me. My mother curled my hair just for the picture. Remember spit curls? I may not be correct on all of these, but here is my guess.

Front row L to R. Tommy Treat, Dorothy Kuba ,Jo Reefer, ?, ? ? ? Vickie Mann, ?

2nd row: Johnny Richards, Nancy Neilson , Bill Sanderson, Kathy Garland,?, Alan Scanlan, Rhonda Howe, Lauren Dalke, Susan Mathers

3rd row: ?,?,?,?, Jim Brown, Doris Clendenen, Chucky Schott, ?, Kelly Babcock, Robyn Rhoads

Chucky, it looks like you owe Susan a beer.

You should have qualified your bet by saying that anyone who appears in the photo is not allowed to guess which one is you.

Ok Susan is right. I am wondering if there were'nt some kids from the Radar Base in these classses. Thanks Sue, I knew I was not there but in Miss Keating's class.
Now if we all could get together and try to find the photo of the First grade classes being roped by Monte Montana trick roper. Mark Kron said he was not involved. Just throwing out a line to snag some info. And yes I talked to Albert Bender, and he was not sure who photographed the groups.

David, David, David, clearly you did not see Susan at my 40th and her 20th reunion this summer, having a beer or two with Susan is far from looking like it would be an unpleasant experience.

I have so much to teach you my little grasshopper.

Hal,

Poor youngster has no grip on the wonders of the fairer sex and I worry I have not taught him properly in the ways of this world.

I knew it would be one of the smarter members (a woman) of the group to come up with the correct answer, so considering the gorgeous bevy of ladies that graced our classrooms for 12 years I couldn't loose.

Still near flawless after all these years.

Sorry Joe I forget there was another educational operation which took some of the harder to manage "children" under their wings. Joe and Bertrand went to that facility PHS Sacred Heart home of the fighting mackerels.

Hi Susan. Hi Joe.

Hope you are both keeping well.
= = = = = = = =

Mr. Schott, I am curious. Is it Chucky? Or Chuckie? Chuckie, in my opinion, carries with it a certain sense of gravitas than seems lacking in Chucky.

Be that as it may, I think you need to post a current photo so we can how you've held up over the years. Would be interesting to compare your appearance then to now.

Myself,I've changed so little over the years that you'd hardly be able to tell the difference between then and now.

You don't like it? You were a little obscured in the original, I just brought you to the foreground and added some color. Apologies to Rhonda Howe and Alan Scanlan.

Chuck,

I had you pegged from the start. Waited to see who else would pick you out of the crowd.

I will be in Billings next week and would like buy you a beer for you putting up with your younger sibling. It's too bad that we didn't have the ability to record every moment back in the late 60's and early 70's when David would dance his dance to Paul Revere and Raiders song "Let Me".
