We better lower the taxes on those 'job creators' so they can keep on trucking.

I am holding onto more of my money too, because the government is saying they are going to tax me more. I plan on loosing a couple 2-3 thousand more a year in taxes after the cuts expire. Plus there are more advantages I could use as a small business that I now will lose, although it not suppose to effect the middle income....Haha I just wont spend it to make sure I have it to pay more then my fair share for someone else who feels they deserve it more then the one who actually earns it. So now, this takes a few more thousand out of our town and communities and gives it to a government that is really is good with our tax dollars, right???... As we all know, exactly how well our government handles anything. So my profits are up and rates for business are up, Cant afford to pay anyone more with out raising my rate even higher so I will pass the cost off to my fellow citizen who is now making less then they had before. Go Obama.

Now what you want is for me to take a cut in pay so you don't have to pay more and I make less. It's a Robin Hood theory, and it doesn't work. Taking something from someone with out paying for it is stealing no matter how it's done. This is where you just don't get it.

This is just my story which I am sure is similar to others in this community and others around this country. The data was from a Liberal Think Tank as it states in the story. Plus CNN, it is so twisted I can't hardly read it. Adios mi amigos.

From the Tax Policy Center:

Myth: Americans are overtaxed.
In 2007, federal, state and local taxes claimed about $3.8 trillion, or 27 percent of U.S. gross domestic product. That's nearly $13,000 for every American. Two-thirds of tax revenues went to the federal government.

It may sound like a lot, but other developed countries collect even more. In 2006, taxes in 30 of the world's richest countries averaged 36 percent of GDP; only Mexico, Turkey, South Korea and Japan had tax rates lower than ours. And taxes in many European countries exceeded 40 percent of GDP because these nations offer more extensive government services than the United States does.

Americans do pay far more in individual income taxes than residents of other wealthy nations. Nearly 37 percent of U.S. tax revenue came from personal income taxes in 2006, about 10 percentage points more, on average, than in other industrialized countries. But we pay much less in sales taxes; 17 percent of 2006 U.S. tax receipts were from taxes on goods and services, or about half the 32 percent average for rich countries.

Bottom line: We may hate our taxes, but we pay far less than people in other wealthy countries.

I, personally, am hoping that we go over the fiscal cliff so my taxes will go up so we can pay off the debt incurred after two wars.

For I am a patriotic American who loves his country, and not a self-serving Tea Party piggy wiggy.

Big corporations have HUGE piles of money. They could provide health care and better wages for their employees and still make profits. Unfortunately, the American worker is seen as a liability rather than an asset to a business.

Does this apply to a small business? No. It applies to the biggies, like Wally World and Exxon. They could and should pay more in taxes and more to employees and less to CEOs and STILL make huge piles of money. They just want more and more and more until there is nothing left.

This, of course, assumes that they pay federal income tax in the first place, a la Exxon 2009.

Probably because Amorette isn't like one of those idiots who believe that they need to make less because otherwise they'll be taxed more, because that's totally how marginal taxes work.

I work for small corporation. Again, the scale of the big boys vs. the little guys is monstrous. I don't think some people can grasp how many zeros are involved between a little company and something like Exxon-Mobile.

I still think I should be paid more. Of course. And I think the rich should pay higher taxes because a low tax rate on the wealthy does NOT help the economy. IF it did, we would be cruising through the biggest boom in history.

I hate to bust your bubble, but when it is all over and the bickering stops. You can bet that the middle class and the small business sector will be the one that gets hosed in the end. That is the way it always has been and always will be. The GOP takes care of the corps. and the dems. take care of the poor. Nobody takes care of the middle class or small businesses.
