Can someone explain to me how this guy has so much power? There has to be more than some silly tax pledge he intimidates congresspersons into signing. Does he hand out WWGD bracelets or threaten to take away your birthday? Why would republicans allow one guy, who is not the chair of the party, create so much chaos?

Grover has Koch power. Those who sign with him join him in being members of ALEC...the Corporate "Bill Mill" that dictates bills they want passed and those that they do not want passed, to, even, our own legislators..or, some of them are sitting in Helena as we speak. And..they are the leaders of committees that are important to all of us...but, alas. Let's just say, thank heavens for Governor Bullock. Membership is online for both the ATR (Grover Norquist) and ALEC.

Don't you remember Grover when he hung out with Ralph Reed and Jack Abramoff (sp)...some "little" Casino deal where Jack ended up in the Clink...and, Ralph dropped out of sight for awhile...and, Grover moved on??? The sooner he draws unemployment...the better it is for all of us. (I rant..sorry!)

Anyone who blindly follows Grover Norquist et al is unfit to call him/herself a 'leader.'

Grover's power seems to be waning. A congressman from Georgia recently said they cannot be expected to stick with a pledge signed 20 years ago. As I recall, Grover wrote that pledge when he was twelve years old.
I just saw Grover on MSNBC in a clip rom Fox News complaining that the republican congressmen who are starting to bail out of the "pledge" are having "impure thoughts".
