This movie is based on a book written by Dinesh D'Souza.

Here is the Wikipedia entry on Mr. D'Douza:
Dinesh D'Souza(Konkani: ????? ???????; born April 25, 1961) is an Indian American conservative political commentator, public intellectual and author who is currently the President of The King's College in New York City.[1] Prior to his presidency at King's he was Robert and Karen Rishwain Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.[2] D'Souza is a prominent voice in American politics and has been affiliated with a number of conservative organizations and publications, including the American Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation, Hoover Institution, and Policy Review.[3] He also served as a policy advisor to President Ronald Reagan.[4][5] D'Souza is the author of numerous New York Times best-selling books.[6] He has also written on Christian apologetics and is a notable critic of New Atheism.[7][8][9][10][11]

In 2012, D'Souza released 2016: Obama's America, a documentary based on his 2010 book The Roots of Obama's Rage, both of which posit that Barack Obama's attitude toward America derives from his father's anti-colonialism and from a psychological desire to fulfill his father's dream of diminishing the power of Western imperial states. Critics have said the film contains conspiracy, speculation, and projection.[12][13] The film has been successful at the box office, becoming the second highest-grossing political documentary of all time.[14][15]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w..._D%27Souza

The producer is Gerald Robert Molen. Here is the Wikipedia entry for Mr. Molen:

Mr. Molen was (born January 6, 1935) is an American film producer. He has worked closely with Steven Spielberg, having produced five of his films, and won an Academy Award for co-producing Schindler's List. Molen is now semi-retired and spends his time alternating between Montana and Las Vegas, Nevada.[1]
Molen was born in Great Falls, Montana, the son of Edith Lorraine (née Meyer) and Gerald Richard Molen.[2] He grew up in North Hollywood, California, after moving from Montana, with a number of younger brothers and sisters. His mother ran a diner, "The Blue Onion", which was located across from one of the major studios. Molen got his start in the movie business by changing tires on studio trucks.
Molen has appeared in cameos in several of the films he produced, including Rain Man, Days of Thunder, and Jurassic Park. The name 'Molen' can be seen painted on the front of a large black cauldron in the movie Hook as the camera pans across the pirate docks in Neverland.

Molen produced a documentary film critical of Obama, 2016: Obama's America, during the 2012 presidential campaign.[3][4]
In 2012 Molen was prohibited from speaking to high school students in Montana by the principal who described him as a "right-wing conservative." The cancellation of his presentation resulted in widespread criticism of the principal. The school district superintendent regretted the principal's decision saying, "...that's not how we treat people."[5]
Molen is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[6]

Based on the agenda of these two I would doubt there is much objectivity in this flick. Motivating people through fear is usually a dishonest approach.

The Brother of President Obama is in the movie.....sounds interesting!!!

A Review from netflix movie of 2016:

"The movie explains the philosophical influence of Obama's father through interviews with friends of his father. It also delves into the mentors that Obama has in his youth. No doubt, the influence Obama has had on the U.S. reflects this view of a European country, which is essentially what America is, and how we interact with the rest of the world. About 2016: Obama's America
2016 Obama's America takes audiences on a gripping visual journey into the heart of the world's most powerful office to reveal the struggle of whether one man's past will redefine America over the next four years. The film examines the question, "If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?"
Across the globe and in America, people in 2008 hungered for a leader who would unite and lift us from economic turmoil and war. True to America's ideals, they invested their hope in a new kind of president, Barack Obama. What they didn't know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him--who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world.
Immersed in exotic locales across four continents, best selling author Dinesh D'Souza races against time to find answers to Obama's past and reveal where America will be in 2016. During this journey he discovers how Hope and Change became radically misunderstood, and identifies new flashpoints for hot wars in mankind's greatest struggle. The journey moves quickly over the arc of the old colonial empires, into America's empire of liberty, and we see the unfolding realignment of nations and the shape of the global future.
Emotionally engaging, 2016 Obama's America will make you confounded and cheer as you discover the mysteries and answers to your greatest aspirations and worst fears.
Love him or hate him, you don't know him.

The film is political propaganda. Shrug. I just hope the popcorn machine is in a better mood than it was last Saturday night. It seemed out to burn everyone who touched the old girl. She makes some darn fine popcorn but it a moody creature. Last week, she kept trying to throw hot popcorn at me and when the popcorn comes fresh out of the kettle, it is HOT!

Here are some of the items included in the movie that have been made the factuD'Souza then goes through a list of actions Obama has taken as president to support his thesis. Many of them don't hold water:

_ D'Souza rightly argues that the national debt has risen to $16 trillion under Obama. But he never mentions the explosion of debt that occurred under Obama's predecessor, Republican George W. Bush, nor the 2008 global financial crisis that provoked a shock to the U.S. economy.

_ D'Souza says Obama is "weirdly sympathetic to Muslim jihadists" in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He does not mention that Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama bin Laden and the drone strikes that have killed dozens of other terrorists in the region.

_D'Souza wrongly claims that Obama wants to return control of the Falkland Islands from Britain to Argentina. The U.S. refused in April to endorse a final declaration on Argentina's claim to the islands at the Summit of the Americas, provoking criticism from other Latin American nations.

_D'Souza says Obama has "done nothing" to impede Iran's nuclear ambitions, despite the severe trade and economic sanctions his administration has imposed on that country to halt its suspected nuclear program. Obama opposes a near-term military strike on Iran, either by the U.S. or Israel, although he says the U.S. will never tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran.

_ D'Souza says Obama removed a bust of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from the Oval Office because Churchill represented British colonialism. White House curator William Allman said the bust, which had been on loan, was already scheduled to be returned before Obama took office. Another bust of Churchill is on display in the president's private residence, the White House says.
all content of the movie questionable.

Well, here, the local theater does pick the movies, and we will be showing this movie starting next Friday. It is purely to do with the number of people requesting it, and nothing else. We haven't had this many people request a movie in a long time. I'd rather they see it here than take their money to Billings.

Gunnar, now just how is Barack going to move this country forward ? What's he going to do just print more money and hope that solves the problems ? His foreign policy is coming down around his ears as I type (just look at the middle east he continually apologizes to). He says fast and furious started on the Bush watch. (he best fact check himself because it was initiated on his watch in 2009) He doesn't have a good record to stand on so he just blames everyone else. He says were coming out of the recession but the unemplyment rate doesnt show it. Fuel prices have doubled since he took office. I can keep going and just might as soon as you nuts get done rationalizing what I've just said.

Fact-Checking AP's Fact Check on '2016: Obama's America'

A few days ago the Associated Press ran a news article by reporter Beth Fouhy charging that my film "2016" contains serious factual errors. Remarkably, for a news article, the reporter didn't bother to check with me or anyone else at the film. This was my first indication that something was deeply wrong with this article.

Let's look at the specific charges raised in the AP article.

First, it claims that I "never mention the explosion of debt that occurred under Obama's predecessor, Republican George Bush." This is simply false. The film quotes former Comptroller David Walker saying that the national debt exploded under both George W. Bush and Barack Obama. The film shows a clear graphic depicting the actual debt increase under both presidents, so that the viewer can compare them. The simple truth is that Bush's largest annual deficits were below $500 billion and Obama's lowest annual deficit was above $1 trillion. So Bush was a big spender and Obama an even bigger spender. This is made crystal-clear in the film.

Second, the AP article quotes me as saying that Obama has "done nothing" to prevent Iran from getting nuclear bombs. This is a deliberate misquotation. Actually in the film I recall a prediction that I made in my book The Roots of
Obama's Rage. The prediction was that Obama "would do nothing significant" to prevent Iran from getting nuclear bombs. By omitting the word "significant," AP can then claim that Obama has taken some measures, including some modest sanctions, against Iran. But my point is that these measures are so weak that they cannot be expected to -- and in fact haven't -- deterred the mullahs in the slightest.

Third, the AP article "refutes" my contention that Obama is weirdly sympathetic to Muslim jihadis fighting against America by pointing out that Obama ordered the killing of Osama Bin Laden and has also approved drone strikes against Al Qaeda. My argument was based on the premise that Obama wants to close down Guantanamo and to extend constitutional rights to jihadis captured in Iraq and Afghanistan. I explained Obama's peculiar position by saying that he views these jihadis as freedom fighters seeking to liberate their countries from American occupation. As Obama has made clear, he views Bin Laden and Al Qaeda quite differently, as international gangsters who go abroad to kill innocent people. So my argument about Obama is quite consistent with his actions against Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. Fourth, the AP article claims that I misrepresent Obama's position on the Falkland Islands. Not true. The British position on the Falklands is that the islands belong to the U.K. The Argentine position supports negotiations over the control of the islands. Despite the special relationship between America and Britain, and despite the fact that Republican and Democratic presidents have supported the British position, the Obama administration has switched sides and now supports the Argentine position calling for negotiations. This is reflected in resolutions passed by the Organization of American States and backed by the United States.

Comment from a concerned Citizen:

Steveo_CFP 19 days ago -
I have yet to see the film but have read both of Dinesh D'Souza's books about Obama (among countless others, both for and against Obama). Whether you are Republican or Democrat if you plan to exercise your right to vote this November you should be knowledgeable with regard to both candidates and mature enough to make an unbiased decision based on which candidate will best serve the country. It strikes me as particularly disturbing but completely typical how many un-knowledgeable people like to post comments. The facts are irrefutable and Mr. D'Souza's thesis does a magnificent job of explaining Obama's anti-American behavior. Do you think an American president with unemployment above 8% should be awarding a military contract which would have produced jobs for unemployed Americans to Brazil? Do you think your tax dollars should be sent to Colombia ($2.5 billion or so) so they can drill for oil while our economy suffers in part due to high oil prices when that money could have been spent on drilling in the US to improve our economy? If you are unaware of these actions and many others by the Obama administration you owe it to yourselves and your country, assuming you are pro-America, to read Mr. D'Souza's books. If you do not, and Mr. Obama wins a second term, as America's situation at home worsens and standing in the world declines further because of Mr. Obama's anti-colonialist agenda you will have only yourselves to blame.

The thing is that even if EVERYTHING in this movie is true, and I am sure it is not, it still doesn't justify voting for RMoney. Holding your nose as voting for someone just because you hate the other guy even more is voting out of fear. That is not a good way to live. It is so sad that more people don't have the analytical skills to see the big picture and instead want to regress back to the Beaver Cleaver era, which never really existed in the first place.

Big picture, our country is better off transitioning to greener energy sources. We would have a better quality of life if we had a single payer healthcare system like the Australia medicare system. We would be better off if we stop the industrial military complex that starts wars so the 1%ers can make money.

Yet, we are about to regress into a theocracy.

As I recall, it was a popular idea until the airplane incident and then the pressure was on to leave them there. We didn't want the Yemen terrorists...nor, did we want to send them back to Yemen...not a huge choice. I believe that the lawmakers all had huge input in that decision. Actually, President Obama has done an excellent job despite the perpetual animosity that he has to endure.

On January 7, 2011, President Obama signed the 2011 Defense Authorization Bill which places restrictions on the transfer of Guantanamo prisoners to the mainland or to other foreign countries, thus impeding the closure of the detention facility.

As of September 2012, 167 detainees remain at Guantanamo.

Pres. Obama wants to shut down Guantanamo but he failed. ... like what GCC said and I quote " Makes one wonder about Obama's leadership abilities and the quality of his policies."

I guess you didn't notice that all those good republican leaders in congress have a 10-12% approval rating while the president is above 40%. Who didn't get the job done? The TRUTH doesn't support your conclusion.

The truth is RMoney will do NONE of the things I listed. So in terms of taking on issues that need to be dealt with RMoney is ALREADY a failure. RMoney wouldn't even attempt anything on that list. RMoney's list is about going back to the policies that created this mess in the first place. I am sure the movie will point that out. At least Obama put forth some effort. Only a fool would think we can have a "trickle-down" "voo-doo" economic policy and spend 54% of our federal budget on bombs to drop on mud huts in the middle east for the last 30 years and then shift to a different economic model and solve our economic problems overnight.

Republican are alway screaming about reducing the size of government. Obama has actually integrated a lot of new technology in several of our federal agencies and is reaching that goal. NRCS, for example, will be a much leaner and more effective agency in the future. That same kind of streamlining is occurring in other agencies as well. The President was able to accomplish something Republicans ALWAYS yack about, but never get done. He has also combined some agencies, eliminating duplicity.

And you are a procreateing moran if you think green energy failed. It did not, it still works. Yes, there was a temporary setback was the manufacture of green energy equipment. Huge difference. We need a rooftop revolution in this country. The sun still shines, solar panels still work, and as long as there are morans like you around, the wind will still blow. Green energy works. It will take time to install the infrastructure.

Here's a story about someone SLIGHTLY MORE SELF-AWARE than the Korkster.

http://www.washingtonpost...story.html

In the Sarasota crowd, I spoke with Billy Murphy, a retiree holding a poster board with the hand-lettered message: "NO REDISTRIBUTION TO FREELOADERS."

Murphy, an avowed foe of President Obama, will support Romney - but he does not know why. "He hasn't really told the people yet what he's gonna do," Murphy said. "We need to know."

Noting Murphy's sign, I suggested that he must, at least, agree with Romney's criticism of the 47 percent of Americans who pay no federal income taxes and expect government handouts. "I don't know," Murphy said, suddenly sheepish. "I'm one of the 47 percent. I'm on Social Security."

It just makes me sad to read through this post. What has happened to critical thinking in America? Have we become so dumbed down that we rely on networks that sell time to Politicians, contributing corporations and film makers to make our decisions.

If you are getting all of your information from Fox News, CNN, The Pulpit, or a film then you are letting someone else think for you. You have someone someone else's opinion. More times than not it is an opinion with an agenda that is theirs and your best interest is NOT what they have in mind.

Well then I definatly choose to be politically ignorant and am damn proud of it! I've watched "politics" go on for a good number of years now and still to this day come to the same conclusion I came to then. The system is broken, it does not work, it will not work, it can not be repaired!

As a society we have morphed ourselves into a way of thinking that say's "I'm right therefore if you do not agree, you must be wrong." A Republican can only be right in another Republican's eye. A Democrat can only be right in another Democrat's eye. A Bipartisan politican is about as socially accepteable as a bisexual. Left, Right, my side, your side, us, tnem.

Checks and Balances, which if my 7th grade American History teacher was correct in teaching me, is what Democracy as a whole is founded upon, can no longer contain this way of thought. The best it can hope for is a stalemate. There is no winner, no loser, no change. There's only what we have today and that to me is sad.

But then again I'm ignorant

And you are a procreateing moran if you think green energy failed. It did not, it still works. Yes, there was a temporary setback was the manufacture of green energy equipment. Huge difference. We need a rooftop revolution in this country. The sun still shines, solar panels still work, and as long as there are morans like you around, the wind will still blow. Green energy works. It will take time to install the infrastructure.

List of Failed Obama Green Energy & Solar Companies in the Billions
Sep 11, 201213 Comments

President Obama's Energy Secretary, Steven Chu who infamously said, "We have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe."
Below is a list of failed energy companies backed by President Barack Obama and funded with tax dollars. President Obama has gone to great lengths to support policies to advance so-called green energy technologies but so far has met with utter failure. The President plans to double down on these unproven, expensive failed technologies if he gets a second term.
In his acceptance speech at the DNC in Charlotte, President Obama announced his plans to continue support of these same green energy technologies despite the fact that they remain unproven alternatives to gas, coal and oil. Most green energy or "renewable" energy developments currently being tested are years away from being put to a practical use.
President Obama has proven himself to be a rigid ideologue who is unwilling to let go of the failed policies that plagued his first term. This has many Americans fearful of the future of the United States. As of now there is no technology or renewable energy on the planet that can lift an airplane off the ground and keep it in the air or propel a cargo ship across the vast ocean-ways.
Most Americans are asking, "Can the United States of America REALLY afford FOUR MORE YEARS of President Obama?
List Of Failed Green Energy Jobs & Companies - By Obama

Lost Billions of dollars but Getting More Money To Keep Trying. Can you say, "This isnt working?"
Solyndra: FAIL! - Obama gave Solyndra $500,000,000 in taxpayer money and Solyndra shut its doors and laid off 1100 workers in August 2011 After Billions in Losses due to failure to make a solar product that works!
LSP Energy: FAIL! - LSPEnergy LP filed bankruptcy protection and a sale of its assets in Feb 2012

An advertisement? Should have posted it in the Classified Ads section.

P.S. I like how you capitalized "Movie". Do you worship Movie? "Our Movie who art in theater, hallowed be thy Name... Give us this day our daily popcorn..."

David I know you are an Obama fan too!! but here is the other definition of the word advertise:

Advertise = tell others about something: to make something known to others. [15th century. < Old French advertiss- , stem of advertir (see advert1)]

This is what I meant when I said advertise. A word usually has many definition.

If information like the solar rhetoric is to inform...it should at least have a vein of facts. Things like the DOE turning funding down due to technology changes...money that had been expended in another administration...funding from private sources, etc. So much more involved.

Nice bipartisan article choice.

Since you are mincing definitions (advertise), please clarify the subtle difference between "tax payer funded" (gave away our money) and "loan guarantees". These so-called failed companies didn't take the money and run, like this obviously biased article tries to sell you. They haven't absconded with your hard earned tax dollars like an extra paycheck to stash in the Cayman Islands (*cough cough* Bain bailouts).

Funny that electric cars work all over the WORLD, but we cannot manage to get them funded effectively here due to Coal and Gas lobbies.

Let's try a more varied view than that single article (no peer-review or cited sources I noted). I am open to other solutions and viewpoints beyond this slant.

Well put GGG, while I welcome any green energy that is cost effective, and some is, it should not be made cost effective by government policies that raise the cost of fossil fuels. In 2008 Obama said under his cap and trade plan "electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket", he was unable to pass cap and trade legislatively, but he wages a war on coal through EPA mandates. The recent announcement of the plans to mothball the PPL powerplant in Billings is a good example, one of many.

Fact Check:
http://www.dividedstates.com/list-of-failed-obama-green-energy-solar-companies/

It is DISHONEST and UNKIND to call something a "fact check" when it is actually opinion.

Let me repeat what I said, and this time try reading ALL the words:
And you are a procreateing moran if you think green energy failed. It did not, it still works. Yes, there was a temporary setback was the manufacture of green energy equipment. Huge difference. We need a rooftop revolution in this country. The sun still shines, solar panels still work, and as long as there are morans like you around, the wind will still blow. Green energy works. It will take time to install the infrastructure.

I HONESTLY pointed out the problem. What has failed to this point is manufacturing business of solar panels, not solar technology itself. With a cooperative congress the reasons for the failure to-date can be easily remedied. If Edison had given up after the first five materials he tried for light bulb filaments we would likely still be in the dark. He did not give up and we shouldn't either where green energy is concerned.

If the government does more to create more demand, green energy will be very successful and will create a bunch of jobs. Carbon-based sources are cheap only because 1)they are heavily subsidized by the government, 2) we never calculate all of the costs. If green energy were subsidized at the same rate, it would be wildly successful. A rooftop revolution would place the infra-structure where we can be independent of foreign countries. It is a one-time investment in the future. Green energy technology is being used today to bring electric power to homes that have never had electricity in NM and AZ.

RMoney will take us back to using "buggy whip" 19th century technology. The policies of RMoney wouldn't have spent money for government programs like rural electrification. His unwillingness to invest in the future is one of many reason he should be not be elected.

Green energy has NOT failed, it is only getting started.

Honesty and kind words are the rarest wealth anyone can possess, you cannot expect it from CHEAP PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!!

FWIW, I am NOT cheap and I spoke my honest and kind words to you. You should take a huge dose of your own advice.

But will you hold to the same standard energy policy that artificially lowers the cost of fossil fuels while, at the same time, artificially raising the cost of clean energy?

This reminds me of the folks who whine about Amtrak. As if airlines don't get all kinds of federal assistance. If we made oil/gas/coal folks pay their way, we'd be heating with whatever we could find that burned and be riding our horses to work.

We live in the 21st century. We should be moving forward on energy development, not trying to bring back the great days of the nineteenth century. Ah, the smog of London, where art thou?

Joe Whalen- I don't believe in subsidies or tax credits for oil or coal companies, government shouldn't pick winners or losers, the free markets should. Richard says that green energy would be wildly successful if subsidized as heavily as fossil fuels, well lets remove all unnecessary regulations and subsidies from both and find out.

There are at least three flies in that ointment, Gary; namely, the speculation ancillary to energy markets, the hazards of determining "unnecessary" regulation, and the opportunity cost of eliminating strategic subsidy.

GCC: Here is some objectivity, what Mr. Obama has done to the coal industry impacts me directly. It's been a tough year. Yet, even I can see beyond my own checkbook and view the big picture here. I still believe that green energy development is the proper course of action.

Richard, I realize fossil fuels won't last forever and as I said I welcome cost effective green energy. I believe government should invest in research and science ( on many levels ) to solve our energy dependency, medical problems, and others. What I do not believe in is government using its powers to predate one industry in favor or another, thats the kind of thing government is needed for to prevent, competion should be protected not eliminated. Obama's policies have raised the cost of living for all of us at a time when our economy is faltering, I commend you for looking beyond your checkbook, but what about those not so fortunate.

FWIW,And you are a procreateing moran if you think green energy failed....as long as there are morans like you around,....
I am NOT cheap and I spoke my honest and kind words to you. You should take a huge dose of your own advice.

Richard!!
So why don't you take your own advice. I will give you back your own words, and since you like to say these words to other people, why don't you say it to yourself! What you say describes your personality. Here are your own words, say it to yourself: "YOU ARE A PROCREATING MORAN....AS LONG AS THERE ARE PROCREATING MORANS LIKE YOU ....... !!!

Name calling is not acceptable in my world, so I am not accepting words and advise from your department !!! I don't use cheap words and resort to name calling when the debate doesn't go your way so I don't have to take your advice . Go ahead you are welcome to take another dose of my advice, it is good for you! Regarding the movie, thanks but no thanks I don't have time to watch it! So I don't have comment for you on that.

Regarding the post that you said dishonest and an opinion? Your post is clearly your opinion. My post about Obama's List of Failures? You know it is not my opinion. I researched about Solyndra and that website came up. I believe the statement in that website are correct. You don't have to go to fact.org website to get facts , that I believe created by Obama supporters anyway. Here is the definition of facts:

FACT- piece of information: something known to be true: something that can be shown to be true, to exist, or to have happened .[15th century. < Latin factum "deed" < fact- , past participle of facere "do, make"]Thesaurus Dictionary

If you think that website is not telling you facts that you want to hear, then prove that website to be wrong. You did not present documents yet to prove that website to be wrong, so you can't judge that it is an opinion and dishonest. So far, I researched about Solyndra this is what I learned: $535M loan to Solyndra was a loss to federal taxpayers.

You said:
If Edison had given up af...the dark.[

Facts:
1879 - Thomas Edison invents the Light Bulb
1883- first Solar panels were invented by Charles Fritts . So clearly it did not start during Obama's administration. It started long... long time ago. If green energy works, it should have been proven by now. We want it to be successful but companies who tried it just keep on failing. I saw on tv a multimillionaire, I believe he voted for Obama before, now he said he is going to support Romney for President. He said he lost hundreds of millions of dollars to green energy company that he built. If you think your ideas and opinion are so great , go ahead build your own green energy company. Solyndra already lost $535 million of taxpayers dollars!!! People I know, used solar panels only because they don't have access to electricity and gas, but complained to be very expensive and left with no choice. If somebody want to try this business , it should not be a huge amount of taxpayers money to start with, like what the Obama administration did. Another company tried this business, but they used a smaller amount. Result of that business = failure . The difference is that company repaid the loan. Solyndra did not .

Have a project to do, so don't have time for debates anymore nor to read post. If I read a post , I will be tempted to respond and don't have time for that, so I'd rather stop reading post in milescity.com . So don't bother to answer my post because I won't read it anyway!

Post of the Republicans here are wonderful to read because majority of them don't use nasty words and resort to name calling when things don't go their way compared to Democrats. I like the resume and experience of Romney for President. I think the Republicans are right on that.
