Over $8,000 in prizes are up for grabs in the 3rd Annual Holy Rosary Healthcare Foundation Sportsmen's Charity Classic Trap Shoot & Annie Oakley Shoot-Out scheduled for August 10-11 in Miles City. The event is growing from its first two years which drew competitors from six states and awarded over $20,000 in prizes. In 2012, the event features a main trap shooting event with three rounds of competition and three Annie Oakley Shoot-Outs over two days.
The event begins at 7pm Friday, August 10, with an Annie Oakley Shoot-Out and continues Saturday, August 11 with two Annie Oakley Shoot-Outs and the main three-round trap competition. The Sportsmen's Charity Classic takes place at the Custer Rod and Gun Club trap shooting range at Spotted Eagle Recreation Area in Miles City. Eighty shooters will compete in an open trap shoot with randomly selected teams. Team and individual prizes including guns, ammunition, hunting equipment, gift certificates, vacations/travel, hunting clothing, and much more will be awarded. Shooters may choose to compete in one, two, three, or all four competitive events.
All proceeds from the HRH Foundation Sportsmen's Charity Classic will benefit surgical and emergency services in our community and region.
Shooters of all skill levels are welcome as prizes will be awarded in various categories including youth, novice, men and women, and much more. Food concessions are available on the grounds through the duration of the event for family, spectators, and guests. Rental items are also available.
Registration is still available with a maximum 80-shooter limit. Last-call registration, if the event is not sold-out, will be available at 5:30pm Friday, August 10, and 6:30am Saturday, August 11.
