Are there any workout programs available in Miles City? Like a centralized gym or something similar? Oh and does anyone do crossfit training?

A good place to start would be the MCC Centra 874-6184. I know they a variety of programs open to the public but I am not sure what is going on right now.

I think I heard somewhere that the pool will be open soon. I'm not aware of a better workout than swimming laps.

The pool is open and has lovely new docks. I have no idea what happened to the gym that was supposed to set up where Maurice's was. The brown paper has been on the windows since January but there is no sign of work.

There is a self guided circuit in MC. If I remember correctly it begins;

1. Breakfast at the 600 on eggs, hot cakes, side pork and hash browns. Wash it down with a large, frosty, milk. (Breakfast is important)

2. Walk to your car if you remember where you parked it last night, after leaving The Montana. If not, call a cab and proceed to McDonald's for coffee and conversation with your fellow circuit trainers. should you become sleepy from the "600 Cafe carbo load" , drink more coffee and have an apple pie. Sugar and caffeine are a quick energy boost.

3. Drive or car-pool to Wal-Mart. You are probably out of cigarettes or copenhagen and the tobacco line is always slow and crowded. Standing will increase your respiration and strengthen those leg muscles. The walk from the parking lot is good cardio.

4. By now you are probably hungry and pretty pooped out from the rigors of the morning. Take a break, have lunch and dont worry about the calories in that beer. It is loaded with carbohydrates.

5. You are an Adonis and you have worked hard. Go home and take a nap. If you are to wound up from the mornings exercise and can't sleep, have another beer or two. You will need the rest if you plan on closing down another bar tonight.

Gym? We don't need no stinkin' gym.

Does it have some sort of inverse relationship with sense of humor?

Art, I hope you are keeping up the good work as well. The extreme heat has curtailed my road biking a bit. Lap swim at the center and evening walks are great.

I gained a few pounds over the winter months and am working to get back into shape. I need to go hiking and try another mountain or two this summer.

I would encourage anyone to find an exercise program that works for them. Eat right, get on a bike, walk with family and friends. A gym or pool is fine but really not necessary for a fit, active life. The hardest part of any exercise activity is lacing up your sport shoes and walking out the door.

Let's see.... beer weighs about 8 lbs./gal... plus the weight of the mug... and it is 48 feet from the second stool at the front of the bar to the bathroom...

Yup, this is an exercise program that works for me.

We posted this message a few weeks back-
"Hoping you all are still SOOO very excited and interested, as we are in the final loan processes to bring Miles City a 24/7 fitness and tanning center. We've had nothing but great community support and wonderful reactions to our goals, and we are excited to be bringing a new business to Main Street.
We are looking to offer many different fitness classes including zumba, pilates, and cycling. We will have trained personal trainers willing to do one on one sessions as well as group fitness training. Our center will offer a variety of cardio and strength equipment, that will hopefully suit everyones needs-and locker rooms complete with showers for those working out on the go.

We are thrilled at our new venture and are excited to finalize our paperwork and bring a new fitness opportunity to Miles City!"

I'm not sure who was hoping to open a gym last fall or winter, but unfortunately it wasn't us.

We did purchase the old Maurice"s building end of February, and started working on it in March. We put the brown paper on the windows in late March so people couldn't see the workers and work being done due to being in a fish bowl, with lots of curious eyes always peeking in...and we don't blame them for wanting to peek. To bring this gym to life, we are still working our full-time jobs to support our loans, etc, so we work on the gym when not at our regular jobs, and have to work in schedule with the plumbers and electricians. Our goal has always been late summer to early fall and we are still hoping to obtain these goals. The process of applying for a commercial loan and working with banks and economical development teams is a longer process than one would think, due to all the hard work behind it. We cannot thank anyone enough for the help we've had thus far, and we are excited to bring this gym to life!

Best of luck to you. Always nice to see someone starting a new business.

Marshall - Unfortunately I haven't been able to watch any of the tour this year because I switched to DirecTV and they don't have the Versus network. I miss the tour but it loses out to NFL Sunday Ticket.

I was wondering if this gym would have a daycare center for the kids so parents can workout?

I hear hints of some cross fit at the new gym. I will definitely be there in that case!

I've been doing Cross-fit on my own for about a year now. I currently have been training with three others for about two months. I'm headed to Denver on Friday for the Cross-fit Level 1 trainers certification. I will be looking to train a few people soon. If anyone is interested you can contact me at 951-1404.

Sadly we will not have actual daycare but we do have a little sitting area where your kids are free to come and do homework or color and such. The cost and liability to add a daycare was more than we wanted to take on right away, but we are looking to add a couple kid classes to give parents an hour by themselves to workout...! Liability is such an issue right now, so make sure with your crossfit gym you are completely insured! Can get scary-even with people you think youd have no issues with! Best of luck in your venture! Cant wait to hear of your success!
