Custer County Community Health Center, in conjunction with the Rosebud Public Health, is in the process of collecting water, food, Handi Wipes, Baby Wipes, diapers, Childrens snacks, milk, etc. These items can be taken to the Custer County Community Health Center on the second floor of the VA Healthcare at 210 S Winchester.

We also need to find someone willing to drive a vehicle down with these items via the Rosebud Creed Road.

Contact us at 234-8793.

We are now looking for trucks for the next couple of days.
We have also learned that the Heritage Center is the Feeding Station in Ashland. They need Hot dog and hamburge buns as well as bread, towels, and blankets.
There is fund set up at 1st State Bank of Forsyth. You can call 346-2111 and donate to the Ash Creed Fire Relief Fund.

Thank You Sharon for all you are doing to help! Some of these families have had to evauate to Miles City so that they can be close to medical care and many Miles City businesses and organizations have pitched in to help! Thanks to everyone!

We went through fire evacuation 10 days in Texas during the Tri-County fires NW of Houston this past September. It is not fun. It is exhausting. What help you can give your neighbors will be received gratefully, I am sure. We were fortunate we had no fire damage, just out of pocket expenses not reimbursed by our insurance (check your insurance policies about this). Those start to add up pretty quickly. They also did not meet the FEMA reimbursement guidelines. We gutted up and moved on. Gratefully our home/property was not damaged. Neighboring small rural subdivisions within one mile were burned to the ground. Be sure to thank the firefighters and other first responders. We had police and firefighters from all over Texas protecting our property -- and not letting us back in until clearance given. ;-D

I have just spoken to Ginger at Rosebud Public Health. The shelter in Ashland at the Heritage Living Center is serving about 1200 meals a day. Red Cross is helping with some food items but there is still need. The following items can be delivered to Custer County Community Health Center - 2nd Floor of the VA.
Salad Bar items, Fresh fruit and Watermellons, cookies, hygiene items (shampoo, conditioners, baby wipes, dog food, camping toilet paper, socks and underwear, basic undergarments.

We will try to deliver items daily this week.

I forgot to add that if you are out of the fire area and have any extra hay - this will be a real need for the horses in that area. The Health Center will not be able to deliver it, but the residents will appreciate it!!

Just as an FYI - there's a pickup truck heading south to the fire line in the stacey area that's going to be taking cold drinks and food to the firefighters and the locals - if you want to donate anything today, you can drop it off at Farm Credit Services before the truck arrives around 3:30.
