During her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant
Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus
18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following
response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, written by James Kaufman of Virginia, and
posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:
Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's
Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that
knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend
the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that
Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of
debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other
elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male
and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A
friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not
Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned
in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a
fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is
in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem
is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it
creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my
neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I
smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.
Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally
obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is
an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than
homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there
'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if
I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading
glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some
wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the
hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by
Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig
makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two
different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing
garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester
blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really
necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town
together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to
death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep
with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy
considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.
Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and
unchanging.
Your adoring fan.
James M. Kauffman,
Ed.D. Professor Emeritus,
Dept. Of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education

Jeri, you asked if there were degrees of abominations. Well this should go without saying, as there are degrees of crimes. 1st degree, 2nd degree etc. There are plenty of references to crimes or abominations being met with their suitable punishments in the good book. Likewise there are plenty of nowadays exmples of different punishments for different crimes. We even have sayings to the effect of let the punishment fit the crime. Certainly a crime as high as Sodomy and Homosexuality are very high on the list, or they would not have been the reason for the destruction of an entire city such as Sodom and gomorra. It is wrong, and only morally bad people would attempt to justify it. If you allow homosexuals in your town, than God will judge you as them, the same.

Assuming the story is true, (I reject that premise) Sodom & Gomorrah were not judge for being homosexual. The Bible never says what specific wickedness they committed that caused them to be judged. The story isn't about homosexuality, it is about violent gang rape.

Jude 1:7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an [b] example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

"indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh" is "sarkos heteras" in the original greek. Homosexuality cannot be the issue here because the flesh they were pursuing is called "heteras" meaning different. This the same word from which we obtain the "hetero" as in heterosexual- the exact opposite of what we must find if the sin of Sodom was "homo" sexual.

Richard this arguement can only be resolved when you realize the ends of the ideals that you and yours are proposing end with one world economic systems, one race (ethnic group), and one religion. If you can not realize that, then I will continue to change(broaden)the topics that are being discussed in order to show you that your ends are not justified.
Furthermore there is a book that described all of this, for all the world will come against the decendants of Abraham (isrealites), then he will return.

Since you are the one making this claim the burden of proof lies with you to make your case. What evidence can you offer that:

-such a proposal for one world government even exists?

-that part of that plan is we become one "ethnic group", how is that even possible?

-that we could ever become one religion? (unless there is a world wide abandonment of the concept of god)

-Even if all of this is does happen, why would it necessarily be "bad"?

milescity said:

I assume this book is the bible? Funny thing the main character in that book says things like "this generation shall not pass away before the main character (who made the prediction in the first place) returns (paraphrasing Mt 24). Revelation 1:3 says "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

None of that happened in the generation that the main character was speaking about. Why say "the time is near" and then take roughly 2000 years (and counting) to show up?
Why would a loving god punish his chosen people(Israel)while whisking all of the gentiles Christians off of the face of the earth during a tribulation and then bring them back when the trouble passes.

Any book with such a poor tract record of predicting events that didn't happen WHEN they were supposed to occur should be abandoned and not given any further credence.

In much of Europe, this is how it works. The contract that counts is the civil one. The marriage is just a fancy party for friends. I think we should separate the two here. People often get married on one day and throw a big party at their church the next. The one that counts for legal purposes is the civil part.

Rather than so-called 'separate but equal,' just make a marriage a civil contract and weddings a religious party with no actual legal standing.

I hope you don't mind if I interject something here. I really have no emotion whatsoever about who someone chooses to marry or hang out with, but I do QUESTION the use of the word "GAY' which meant, as per my 1941 Webster's Practical Illustrated Dictionary, New Census Edition..."MERRY; FULL OF MIRTH; BRIGHT-COLORED; GIVEN TO PLEASURE". Having graduated from High School 1n 1954, I have signed annuals alluding to "the gayest times", "the gayest this and the gayest that". All about good times!

If someone has information concerning the conversion of the word
GAY", I would appreciate knowing and thank you in advance for your help.

In Jane Austen's time, the word 'nice' was undergoing a flux in meaning. It had meant 'insipid' but was now moving to 'pleasant.' We don't know what Miss Austen meant when she wrote in a letter she went to a 'nice' party because the word could have either meaning at the time.

Bemused. Does it mean amused or bewildered or some condition in between or having both in common? Depends on when and to whom you are speaking.

Here is a remark from Richard Bonehead
[Here is a link to the first two chapters of a book entitled The God Virus:}

So you liberals are a bunch of self proclaimed atheist, keep opening mouth and inserting foot. As I said before, not even a speed bump in the future.
And I don't fear their lifestyle, I hope their happy, I just don't want to propagate the immorality of their lifestyle towards the younger generations.
I think that some of the people with serious sexual genetic defficiencies should be left alone, but the people that are straight one day and bi the next are really just perverts. And we know from other cases that sexual perverseness leads to more and more extreme sexual frustration. These are the kinds of people that tortured frogs and lizards as kids, and should not be given the same benenfit as those with real medical testosterone or estogene troubles.
I hope we can find some type of medical help for people with sexual genetic problems, but the "by choice perverts" can go to the fenced in island.
Let us not forget that statistics show that a large portion of serial killers and violent offender started out with sexual orientation issues. As to some of your remarks about me and my sexual conduct, I am and always have been straight, all but one of my ex girl friends have been very attractive. However I have the most attractive one with me now, and tonight will be as good as the last. I feel sorry for you Homosexual sympathisers, but maybe you have to be on their side in order to justify your own set of knee pads.

Serial Killers
Early Signs and Murders

Criminology
April 16th, 2010

In early years of childhood, you may be able to recognize warning signs of a serial killer. Serial killers at a young age may start out by harming and torturing small animals. In some cases they will spend hours inflicting a slow death. This act of sadism is a form of control, and allows the person to receive the power they crave.

Another early sign of a serial killer is bedwetting. Over sixty percent of serial killers wet their bed past the age of twelve. (Fisher) Bedwetting may be a sign of abuse. It can inflict emotional pain on the child. In some serial killers the parents would abuse the child by making fun of them, or calling them names, and this is very embarrassing. Some serial killers had a nickname such as â_oPissyâ__ and people in the neighborhood would call him by that name.

One of the largest signs of future violence is a fascination with fire. Some serial killers would start out by just burning small objects, then later move on to setting small animals on fire, such as cats. Once boredom kicks in some may even go as far as burning down homes and causing a great amount of damage.

When most serial killers were young, they were very anti-social. They would withdraw themselves from society and not care about anyone else but their selves. This is known as Anti-Social Personality Disorder. Some may later be very social as they mature. Most if not all serial killers had some form of sexual deviance, including sexual violence.

There are too many other references toname, but if you insist, I will get you a page or two of links to proffesional papers by leading researchers thatr document the ties between sexual deviancy and violent natures.

www.athenaresearchgroup.org/sexualdeviance.htm

Here is another article from the athens crimnal research group, just one of many that draw a correlation betwen sexual deviate natures and how they progress into more and more violent acts of human domination.
Homosexualality is not all that diferent from being a bully, in that it has a progressive nature about its self. If a bully goes unchecked for any length of time, there mentality turns to a more violent and bullyish demeanor. This is why we end up with police oficers that go from nice people to control freaks, to gulags. It is the old saying that absolute power currupts.
The continued nature of any act will beget its self in a more extreme fashion, this is the nature of a personality (flaw in the instance of homosexuality). Simularly if you go to church, and try to live according to his teachings, then it begets more righteousness. All things are progressive in nature, so if we allow sexual deviancy even at a somewhat questionable level, the next generation will be fighting the more extreme version of which we should have stoppped.

Admit it and free yourself, you'll be much happier.

It is just so sad. All the priests having sex with altar boys...but they aren't gay? The Pope has known..as all popes who have gone before him have known.

It's JUST NOT NATURAL for men to abstain from sex. So they use those they can to feed their needs.

But gay people who freely choose to partner with each other are the ones damned to hell? I think not.

As one who was sexually abused by a former principal of Sacred Heart Grade School at an altar boy sleep-over, I think I have an understanding of your pain and anger. My guess is that you may have experienced some similar abuse in the past. If that is the case, I am sorry for your experience.

It is important, however, to distinguish between homosexual behavior and pedophilia. One is based on love the other is based on selfishness. It is in making these distinctions you may begin to find some healing. Life is too short to waste your days being angry at people in the past.

Thank you for speaking up.

George B. Shaw

It should have said- A fools brain digests religion into fact and science into superstition.

Father cliff and Stredney were very honorable men. There has never been, to my knowledge, any funny business of any kind in the Saint Josephs catholic church of New waverly Texas. I followed a strict set of classes as an alter boy, untill confirmation at the age of 14.
However, now that there are bi-ligual services, as the Mexicans take over the religion, I can not speak to what there culture sees as sexually correct. I here they have some kind of Donkey show on the other side of the border, so I can only assume they are just as sexually disturbed as the rest of you liberals here at MC.commie.

Ain't no homo gonna make it to heaven. Now there are some young men being raised non politically correct, but very morally correct. I will take Moral correctness over Political correctness any day, as would most heterosexual men and women in America. Just because your liberal views are predominant here in cyber space, does not mean your ideals hold any water in the real world. Once again "not even a speed bump for the conservative christians of this town". God is good "all the time" All the time "God is good".

A question, milescity:

Do you seriously believe that God will judge someone for loving a person of the same sex, but not judge you for hating someone you have never met?

{Do you seriously believe that God will judge someone for loving a person of the same sex, but not judge you for hating someone you have never met?}

I don't think love can exist between 2 people of the same sex, unless there exist a serious medical condition. So no, God will not judge those with medical problems (except in a positive light), but those "part time this" and "part time that" (bi-seuals) will be judged harshly since they had a conscious choice to make and chose wrongly.

Furthermore, I do not hate anyone, I advocate segregation from people of liberals lifestyles, not war with them. This is where your kind always muddy the waters between intergartion, segregation, and war to provide complete separation. The middle ground to a social issue will always be segregation. While the extreme left will be intergration, and the extreme right will be war for forced separation.
I advocate segregation so that hate does not eventually take shape and control of each faction, doing away with the middle ground of segregation.

The problem of us v. them derives from our oldest biological survival instincts. If the "us" stays together it can protect itself from the "them", who may just be the tribe who lives downriver. That instinct drives all humans to categorize each other. Fortunately as we learn new ways to co-exist with the other our species becomes better at seeing our commonalities rather than our differences. You can't really blame milescity for acting on his ancient Cro Magnon instincts. He just hasn't gotten the memo yet.

Here is an example from the bible you claim to believe that is opposite of your opinion:

1 Samuel 20

1Then David fled from Naioth at Ramah and went to Jonathan and asked, "What have I done? What is my crime? How have I wronged your father, that he is trying to kill me?"

2 "Never!" Jonathan replied. "You are not going to die! Look, my father doesn't do anything, great or small, without letting me know. Why would he hide this from me? It isn't so!"

3 But David took an oath and said, "Your father knows very well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said to himself, `Jonathan must not know this or he will be grieved.' Yet as surely as the Lord lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death."

4 Jonathan said to David, "Whatever you want me to do, I'll do for you."

5 So David said, "Look, tomorrow is the New Moon feast, and I am supposed to dine with the king; but let me go and hide in the field until the evening of the day after tomorrow. 6 If your father misses me at all, tell him, `David earnestly asked my permission to hurry to Bethlehem, his hometown, because an annual sacrifice is being made there for his whole clan.' 7 If he says, `Very well,' then your servant is safe. But if he loses his temper, you can be sure that he is determined to harm me. 8 As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant with you before the Lord. If I am guilty, then kill me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?"

9 "Never!" Jonathan said. "If I had the least inkling that my father was determined to harm you, wouldn't I tell you?"

10 David asked, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?"

11 "Come," Jonathan said, "let's go out into the field." So they went there together.

12 Then Jonathan said to David, "I swear by the Lord, the God of Israel, that I will surely sound out my father by this time the day after tomorrow! If he is favorably disposed toward you, will I not send you word and let you know? 13 But if my father intends to harm you, may the Lord deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father. 14 But show me unfailing kindness like the Lord's kindness as long as I live, so that I may not be killed, 15 and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family -not even when the Lord has cut off every one of David's enemies from the face of the earth."

16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "May the Lord call David's enemies to account. " 17 And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath out of love for him, because he loved him as he loved himself.

Try harder!

Richard are you really so dumb as to not be able to differentiate between the Love (comrodery) between two friends, and Love (marriage)with a physical component. You seem like the type to think if someone is your friend, they should prove it by helping you get your rocks off. Really, this is a sick comparison you are making. I like all of my friends, but my physical show of emotions are relegated to the ones I love in that way, and this mannerism is not possible amoungst people of the same sex(without a seriouse medical condition). I love a few friends for being there when I needed them, but I am not going to stick my tongue in their mouth as a show of gratitude. Get right! you left!

Sir, I have exercised significant restraint in NOT resorting to "name calling". The fact that you apparently can't understand simple "word pictures" that describe your behavior is not my problem.

I once believed as you do. But, I took seriously the biblical admonition to "study and show yourself approved, a workman that need not be ashamed". I simply followed the science of this subject (human sexuality) where it lead, not where I necessarily wanted it to go. I changed my views to conform to scientific FACT. Homosexuality is NOT a "disease". To call it such is to revert to "name calling" which by your own definition, puts YOU, milescity, "on the short end of the stick".

It is your choice to remain ignorant and ashamed. Conversely, you can pickup some books and start reading. I'd encourage you to start forming your "opinion" based on science and not your own ignorant bigotry.

'Fraid you are wrong again milescity!

Psychology was one of the first disciplines to study homosexuality as a discrete phenomenon. Prior to and throughout most of the 20th century, common standard psychology viewed homosexuality in terms of pathological models as a mental illness. That classification began to be subjected to critical scrutiny in the research, which consistently failed to produce any empirical or scientific basis for regarding homosexuality as a disorder or abnormality. As a result of such accumulated research, professionals in medicine, mental health, and the behavioral and social sciences, opposing the classification of homosexuality as a mental disorder, claimed the conclusion that it was inaccurate, and that the DSM classification reflected untested assumptions that were based on once-prevalent social norms and clinical impressions from unrepresentative samples which consisted of patients seeking therapy and individuals whose conduct brought them into the criminal justice system.[1]
Since the 1970s, the consensus of the behavioral and social sciences and the health and mental health professions globally is that homosexuality is a normal variation of human sexual orientation, while there remain those who maintain that it is a disorder.[2] In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. The American Psychological Association Council of Representatives followed in 1975.[3] Thereafter other major mental health organizations followed and it was finally declassified by the World Health Organization in 1990. Consequently, while some still believe homosexuality is a mental disorder, the current research and clinical literature demonstrate that same-sex sexual and romantic attractions, feelings, and behaviors are normal and positive variations of human sexuality, reflecting the official positions of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association.
