Anyone that actually knows college football will always bet the speed over the size. There is a 25 year track record of the quickest team winning a really stupid percentage of the games that count. Over the bigger team that is. You can TEACH size all day long, but when the other guy COACHES his speed to just run around them, size calls in sick. I am well over 90%, just betting on the speed this bowl season. I saw it up close and personal many years ago, when Washington played Alabama in the Sun Bowl. The Huskies were huge, averaging well over 320 lbs. across the offensive line and defensive lines. The Bama defense was small, but stupid fast. The final score was 37 - 3 if I remember right. Bama just ran all over them Dawgs. But Don James, Husky coach at the time, spotted the trend. He recruited speed for a few years, and the Huskies shared a National Championship with BY Who about 5 years later. Look at the teams, and bet the speed all day my friends. Remember this. Size will not win over speed. There is the really stupid coach factor to take into account, but if you bet the speed, you will be large money ahead virtually every weekend of the college football season.
The game skews dramatically in the pro game. Every player that makes that level is fast. Bar none. The overall speed of the game just went up by probably 40% . Still look at the skill players. I am a Cowboy fan, but despise Terrell Owens. But if he plays this weekend, full speed or not, the Cowboys will win, and win big I suspect. Speed still plays a roll, but his appearance alone means the Giants have to cover him. And cover him tight. Look for Terry Glenn and Jason Witten to have huge games for the Boys. And if they catch 14 passes between them, Marion Barber will also have 145 yards rushing.
With basically a rookie quarterback, the Boys could still hatch a major egg, but I doubt it. I suspect they will win easily this weekend, but will reserve judgment on the future, if there is one, until after this weekend.
