Wanting to Help Others!!!
Posted by Skye (+386) 11 years ago
My grandmother and I have made many scarves and hats to give away to the Billings Cancer Center in Billings, MT. Although we have not had time to make it to Billings recently, we are looking to give these scarves and hats away to anyone who can make a profit from them (excludes people looking to make money for themselves.) Any associations such as Relay or Life, March of Dimes, the Cancer Center here in Miles City (not sure where it is located) or a benefit for someone here in Miles City that is need of the communities help. I know this may not be much but we would love to help in some way. If anyone here as any ideas as to where to take these scarves and hats or any upcoming benefits please let us know. Thank you all for your help.

I'm going to Billings on Tuesday, May 8. I'd be happy to drop off at the Cancer Center.

Edit: I'm a cancer survivor and say THANK YOU for your efforts.

Sdcc96-thank you I will surely check with her and see what she can use.
Kelly- I would appreciate it if you could take some to the Cancer Center in Billings. They do love them. Please give me a call on Monday 839-0426.

If anyone else is holding a benefit soon please let me know. We will try to make as many as possible. We would love to see people profit from these scarves and hats to help others in need.

Talk to Rosa at the Star. She handles the Wake Up and Lace Up locally and is VERY active in cancer concerns.

I havent tried to call the Cancer Center here because I'm not to sure who to call (posting here seemed a bit easier.) Also Karla, I was just thinking about you and your organization for the Animal Fund. Maybe we can help with that as well!

I will also contact Wake Up and Lace Up. Just need contact information for some organizations.

The only thing I'm concerned about is, our scarves and hats are very comfortable as well as warm...so selling them in the summer time, will anyone buy them at a Benefit or Banquet? But I do notice that not many organizations put on a Benefit in the winter time.

Thank you every one for your help and if anyone has contact information for these organizations I would like to contact them and find out when the next benefit will be.

I make hats and give them to Mary Margaret Friend at HRH for the infusion patients. Her daughter, handles the infusion center at the Billings Clinic here but Mary Margaret will share with her. When you walk in the HRH Clinc turn a sharp right. It is where Dr. Young used to be and where the visiting specialist are. They use wigs, scarves, hats etc. If they are hats for winter time not for cancer victims, Joyce Gibson would be a great source to help you raise money at her sale as she so generously offered. Also, any baby hats I make I wash and place in baggies and give them to the nursery for the newborns. If you or your grandmother need patterns I would be glad to oblige.
There is no more Cancer Center as their equiptment was becomng out dated so they sold the building to the Smile Center. I don't know if anyone here does the radiation treatments. Just chemo to my knowledge. v

According to my hairless husband ~ a bald head is a cold head, no matter the season

I'm sure the hats and scarves are ALWAYS appreciated.
