a good vet?

We live outside of forsyth but am looking for a good vet in the miles city area to spay my mother in laws small chihuahua. the vets here in town are real good with lifestock and larger animals but not so good with the small ones. she had another female chi two years ago and took her in to be fixed and they ended up giving her to much meds and she passed away so now she's very reluctant to take her new dog here. am checking around to see if anyone knows any good vets that can work on small animals.

East Main Animal Clinic I believe only does small animals but Ryan at Miles City Vet Clinic does a ton of small animal work as well.

Miles City Vet has several vets that work on small animals. I take my large and small animals alike to them and the've always done well. Plus they are very resonable as far as vets go.

We use the Miles City Vet clinic for all our animals and have for 10 years or more. They are caring, efficient, and professional. They know our animals by first name, treat them like their own and understand the feelings of pet owners as they treat the pet. The staff is great, the Dr's wonderful. Couldn't ask for anything more.

The Animal House in Forsyth did a fabulous job on a horse of mine a few years ago and it is my understanding that Dr. Smith from there is consulted by other vets in the area on difficult cases involving equines...I took a small dog to him a few years ago and he did well too...but for horses, there is none better in eastern montana IMO...

Dr. Smith, at the Animal House, figured out what was wrong with our Yorkie after visits to a vet in MC over the course of a month. He did surgery and the dog is doing great. I have confidence in his capabilities, to treat small animals.

I take all of our pets to Yellowstone Valley Vet in Forsyth... Dr. Killen does great with our livestock and pets! I have had many cats spayed/neutered and I also have a yorkie that he has spayed... he is a wonderful all around vet!

Go to East Main Animal Clinic. Dr Lindley spayed my dog years ago and she did a great job. Their phone number is 234-6900

we had our cat pass away do to too much anesthesia during her spaying in forsyth also, we take our dog to the hysham vet and all of the staff are great with him. i realize accidents happen and it's hard to determin dosages all the time but i know a number of people with dogs and cats that have had similar problems in forsyth, however for cattle they do have some of the best vets for that.

MILES CITY VET its the only place worth going there great and reasonable in price. East Main is over priced and I don't think that they do as good of job.

Dr Smith in Forsyth at Animal House will even spay mares and that is awesome due to some mares being quite weird during their heat cycle and this makes them almost like a gelding and not hard to handle at a show at all...not all vets will do this as it is a complicated surgery...

We've done very well at Miles City Vet with both large and small animals...I think they are very conscientous. We do not have a favorite vet there as we feel they've all done a good job for our animals.

I have taken my Chihuahuas to both East Main & Miles City Vet & have been happy with both. Dr. Ryan spayed 2 & the other was spayed by one of the women who's name escapes me right now. Catherine at East Main saved one of my Chi when she was severely ill & I could not reach anyone at MC Vet.
My sister is a veterinarian in Colorado, but from Miles City. She recommended both to me, but MC Vet is a little more reasonably priced.
I think East Main is cleaner, however.
Good luck!

WITHOUT ONE SHRED OF DOUBT....JEAN LINDLEY! East Main Animal Clinic. My animals do not see anyone else. She cares for your animal as an IMPORTANT member of your family. And she's brilliant. The entire staff is completely devoted to animals and are wonderful. Don't even think of the "other" vet. I had a dying animal, and I wasn't going to be allowed to be with him went he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Then they wanted to wait until the following week to do it. Hence my relationship with East Main was born. You won't be sorry. She is pricey but she is also a rescue.

We are fortunate to have such good veterinarians in Miles City. I use both clinics and am very happy with the care my animals receive at both places-very compassionate and competent. They are also very willing to talk with other veterinarians for consultations. Both clinics also work well together if needed. We are very lucky in Miles City. Also have great veterinarians in the surrounding towns-Forsyth, Glendive, Hysham.

I had to put my springer down when he was only 5 years old. He had a tumor which Lindley assured me couldn't be treated. I have since found out that was not true. I made the decision and while trying to say goodbye to my sweet companion Lindley stood over us saying "Are we going to do this or not? I have other things to do!" I hadn't been there even five minutes. She also made sure I paid her $90 up front!

NEVER again went back to her.

Ah. Now we know why you attack her all the time. I am sorry your experience went badly but Jean and Catherine and the rest of the staff have been wonderful in the extreme for us and ours, including when we had to bid good-bye to Mittens.

Cool! This could turn into the ultimate cat fight. Or fight about cats.

I have never had a vet so utterly devoted to the needs of pets and their owners as are Jean and the East Main Staff. I put down two dogs and know the pain of an untimely goodbye.

I am quite unique to deal with as anytime my babies are treated or have had to undergo surgery I am there with them. Even when Taya (my black girl) had pyometra and Jean could have lost her on the table if her uterus perforated, I was still allowed to hold her head throughout her surgery. My feelings were if she crossed over, I wanted my hands to be the last she smelled and to know I was with her to the end.

East Main....all the way.
