Bountiful Basket New!
Posted by klew (+83) 11 years ago
Thank you Miles City for being so incredibly supportive of Bountiful Baskets! Here's a reminder about participating for this Saturday. It begins at noon today until we sell out (which will be FAST)!

"everyone must make an account at bountifulbaskets.org, then choose participate now, find Montana, choose Custer County, then Miles City, then order. If you want both conventional and organic baskets read the special instructions at the bottom. Please remember your $3 fee on your first order and all orders are charged $1.50 to process your card."

We have a new pick up time! Volunteers arrive at 10 AM and pick up is at 11:30 AM! I think we need to divide the volunteering responsibilities a bit so we can make things go a little smoother! We could use heavy lifters at the beginning to carry the cases in and then some people at the end to help clean the baskets and help with cleanup. We don't need everyone for distributing the produce. Try to rotate volunteers some so everyone has an opportunity to help out. Thank you all so much!!

Wahoo! I can now announce a new drop site for the "B" truck beginning Feb 11 at 3 pm at Sacred Heart School Lunchroom. That means you can contribute next Monday beginning at noon for that new site! Yay!

Anyone else want to start a site? We can have multiple drop sites in Miles City for either truck! We need sites and coordinators?! Let me know!

Is there a way a person could participate in this without a credit or debit card? Could you accept checks or cash?

You do have to pay for your purchase on-line with a credit or debit card. There is no money exchanged at the pick-up sites. If you don't have a credit or debit card, maybe a friend would purchase for you if you paid them.

Thanks, I'll look into those, have been having a friend do it for me but wanted to see if there were options lol. Also, does anyone know what the root looking vegetable in the tropical package is? So far I haven't found a picture of it online.

Do you mean the vanilla beans or the coconut? There was a celeriac in the organic basket? We still need more sites and coordinators? Please let me know if you're interested!

The "A" and "B" trucks refer to the different routes and weeks they deliver. The site at the hospital is the "A" week. This Saturday is the "B" week drop. Thank you volunteers for all your help and hooray for the volunteers at Sacred Heart School willing to begin a "B" week drop! Check at noon today to see if it is available for participation for this Saturday. It will sell out quickly. We need some more coordinators and sites to allow everyone in Miles City who wants to participate! Anyone in Terry? We have some in Broadus stepping forward. Anyone else?

Thank you Sacred Heart School for adding both the A and B weeks to Bountiful Baskets! The hospital site is sold out for this Saturday but there are some left at the school. Hurry if you want fresh produce, bread, granola, or white wheat berries for a great price!

We're still looking for more Coordinators and sites?! Let us know at either of the sites if you'd like to train.

A friend registered for the 11:30 a.m. site at SHS but can't get there to pick it up. Is there anyone who could pick up an extra basket? Let me know.

Amorette, I can pick it up. I'll be there. Just let me know who and I'll hold it for them.

Janel, you can only volunteer if you have contributed and it must be where you pick up your basket. It's a BB rule and has to do with some states where it is illegal to handle food you have not purchased (like WA state). It's tied to tax laws. Just show up where you contributed and we'll be glad for your help!
