Does anyone have an idea what to do with an older computer that is no longer being used?

That's a pretty open-ended question.

Discard of it responsibly, part it out, sell it to computer shop so they can part it out, turn it into a constantly rotating photo album, music server for your house?

As a musician I also have an odd slant to dedicated computers for my studio. Often, having a monitor, keyboard and nearby computer that stays connected to the studio equipment beats my general-use or work-use computers having to pull double duty. Do you know anyone that might have a need for a system that would be dedicated to one task?

I would check with EMI and see if they have contacts for anyone who does "E-cycling." I haven't seen anything like this in MC, but in Sidney there's an event once or twice a year for collection of electronic items for recycling. I believe whoever puts it on works with an organization that collects obsolete/unusable/old electronic items and does whatever they do to recycle such things, or keep as much of them as possible from going to a landfill.

Good luck!

A video tuner card can be added to them and Mythbuntu Operating system can be installed to make a DVR, To record TV. You can record TV without having to pay for the DVR equipment and service through midrives or any other cable company. Problem is you have to be watching the station to record, cant watch one and record another any time you have a cable box because of the decoding. You can hook it up before the box and get the basic and expanded channels and can record one of them while you watch a different channel.

Also with a clean OS installed, group homes are starting to take them for clients to use.
