Does anyone know who Wilson Street is named after?

Dusting Off the Old Ones mentions:

Montana Homestead Land Company, a corporation formed for the purpose of acquiring title to real properties and platting the same into lots and blocks for townsite purposes. [...] About a month after this property was turned over to the corporation, a plat of NORTH MILES CITY was filed in the office of the county clerk and recorder, whereby the entire 320 acres was platted into streets and alleys, a park called Lansing Park and 124 city blocks. The east and west streets in this townsite were called avenues and were numbered from First (on the south end) and running to Nineteenth Avenue on the north end. The north and south streets were given such names as Wilson, Garfield, Washington, Lincoln, Grand, Lansing and Broadway.

Kind of sounds like it was just a generic name.

"NORTH MILES CITY" never came to be so I don't think the "Wilson Street" mentioned in that story is the same one. The actual "Wilson Street" could be named after a local.

Isn't Wilson street the one with a lot of Dodge Darts and abnormally high air currents?

I always thought it was named for Wendy's Father.

Ha! I'm afraid the street predates my dad but I'd suggest that Wilson Street was named so after Woodrow Wilson, no relation.

Richard, if you're referring to my family, we had Plymouth Valiants, not the poorer imitation Dodge Dart. And I believe there was a lot more hot air being expelled at the Bohundreds' house than at mine.

Thanks for all the responses. I wasn't sure if it was after President Wilson or Corrydon W. Wilson one of the Miles City first timers. I am new to geneology and just discovered CW is my great-great grandfather. My great-grandmother Agnes was the first wife of CC Wilson.
I have enjoyed reading all about Montana, Miles City, Lame Deer...
and I plan on making a trip out this summer to check out the Rough Rider Museum and the church they were married in.

Doh! I guess I should read better before posting.

Hey, I expelled very little "hot air". You're thinking of my obfuscating sisters.

My family could take credit for it, if someone would go spray paint an extra "L" into it.

There was a dog in the Friendship Villa named Wilson after the street he was found on. He used to go around and see all the residents of the Villa. Not sure what ever happened to him.

Didn't that dang dog impregnate about eight "females," resulting in about 40 Wilson puppies on that street and therefore create another generation of about 250 more Wilson puppies...kind of like those darn feral cats I had at our lake house that we never should have fed...Dang, lets all fix our pets, strays, adoptees, etc...

Once they brought him in the villa, he lived inside and often went to the outdoor area between buildings, enclosed by all the wings
