I gain consolation in knowing that Central will be crying this time next week. They will be destroyed by Dillon.
Congratulations on your outstanding season, Cowboys. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Your effort today, especially on the defensive side of the ball, was championship-caliber.
DAVID! I already HAD a thread going for this game!
Oh, well.
I didn't get to hear any of the game, but going by the updates here, it would appear the Rams are a bit guilty of poor sportsmanship by going for one more touchdown when they could have kneeled, instead...seeing as how they already had the game won.
Oh, well, again.
Great season, Cowboys! This one slipped away from you, but you were definately hanging-in there. Next year should be another great one, as well.
I can't beleive they let that game slip away! two plays cost them the win.. letting the punt go by to the 11 and the fumble! OMG. Miles city owned B.C. by the sound of it. BC couldn't do anything! Thats a tough way to lose it. Still in shock.
Yeah I would prefer Central get destroyed next week by Dillon instead of us getting destroyed. Seems like Dillon is in a league of there own this year.
On the bright side, at least we don't have to listen to Central fans say, "Well, if it hadn't been raining during the game, we would have won by three touchdowns!" or some dreck like that.
If this builds Central's suffocating arrogance confidence back up to deliciously-poppable levels, so be it.
Ron, i dont think i said anything different but i think you didnt quite get my point but id be happy to explain things to you if you want I don't believe I said anything to the contrary. My comment was in regard to the fallout from the 2010 state championship game, a reference to which many mc.commers would understand without getting so huffy that they'd lose their senses of punctuation, sentence structure and what-not.
In other words, I was being my normal sarcastic self. I had too much a little faith in the ability of others to get my joke. My bad.
The Cowboys' record from 2008-11 was 40-8 (.833) with two state championships. The only CCDHS graduating classes with more championships were 1997 and 1998 (titles in '94, '95, and '96).
With 40 wins over the last four seasons, no CCDHS graduating class has walked off the field victorious more times than this year's seniors. Congratulations, Cowboys!
I was at the game - Dillon looked to be about twice the size of the Rams, and all the breaks seemed to fall their way. I'm not sure if the Rams managed to force a punt all day. I'm pretty sure that the Cowboys would have been blown out just as badly.
In other news, I heard a rumor that Glendive might be looking to drop into Class B?
As much as I love the Cowboys and never pick against them, I am thankful I wasn't in a position where I would have had to have done just that. The game wouldn't have been pretty.
No one was beating Dillon this year. That includes Helena Capital.
In terms of all-time great Class A teams, I have 2011 Dillon ahead of 1998 Hamilton and 1994 Miles City and right alongside 1999 Laurel, 2004 Havre and 2007 Billings Central.
Glendive can opt to stay at Class A if they want, but their enrollment numbers are definitely pointing toward a drop to Class B. Shepherd is close to being able to come up to Class A, but it'll be a few years, at least. Belgrade will be Class AA for the 2012-13 school year.
I'm hoping that Lockwood gets a high school in the next few years. They'd be one of the largest Class A schools from the onset and a natural fit to replace Glendive in the Eastern 'A' regardless of what Shepherd does.
