Stolen debit card number
Posted by Jenifer Cummins (+12) 10 years ago
To the jerk who stole my debit card number from me and made a rather large purchase on Walmart.com....what a low thing to do. I realize that I was the foolish one leaving my wallet in my unlocked vehicle but, really. I was planning on making a double mortgage payment with that money, the money that my husband and I work our asses off to make. So, I hope you feel good knowing that.

Report the stolen card to the police, your bank, and walmart. They can track where the walmart.com order was shipped to, and.... BOOM, arrested, and the bank returns your money. Problem solved.

Seriously...

whatever he purchased at walmart.com for a lot of money was most likely electronic in nature..

no seriously...

he or she could have gotten a better deal at newegg.com

no really.. seriously....

what the above guy said:

ATM cards that double as a Visa or Mastercard "check card" are evil. If your bank gave you an ATM card that is a Visa or M/C "check card" tell them you want a simple ATM card that requires the use of a PIN number for transactions.

And for crying out loud don't leave your wallet unattended in your car regardless of whether the car is locked or not. Keep your wallet with you.

How do you know that the person who allegedly did this reads mc.com or is that a shot in the dark?

I suggest keeping a separate checking account for debit purchases and never keep more than a couple of hundred dollars in it. Use credit for almost everything else. It's a lot easier to get an unauthorized credit card charge removed than getting cash back from the debit transaction. Banks are not that quick to return cash to your account.

We did all the calling and believe it or not Walmart was very helpful. Got it all taken care of. Thank you for your comments.

I must apologize for my temper. I found out that the number was stolen from the internet somehow and used to make a purchase in Texas. I apologize for thinking that someone in Miles City got ahold of it. I was so angry and wasn't thinking logically.

Could you please post the number, expiration date, and security code so that I can make sure I am not using it by mistake?
