HELP! Question about my gas oven!
Posted by jerseygirl (+570) 11 years ago
I am no expert! My pretty new natural gas stove has a problem! The burners work great. However, it seems like there is no gas to the oven part and I can't even get the pilot light relit! I turned the oven on and 10 minutes later went to put dinner in it and nothing. Cold as ice. NO gas smell even. Any ideas or suggestions would be very helpful and much appreciated! Thanks

Possible a bad thermocouple or something wrong with the basso valve. Probably have to call a repair person. I'd recommend that you go to the Rib and Chophouse and enjoy a great steak, some sweet potatoes and a cold beer.

If you don't have an owner's manual, look for one on the internet. Go to the troubleshooting section and see if you can find some help there.

You need to find a man somewhere. A man can always re-light a pilot light.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of men around Miles City right now, as I was in town just this last weekend. I saw a lot of those that represent that sex around town (although there were a couple of individuals I saw at WalMart that I am not quite sure of).

MDU could help...

I am not sure of what control is on your oven, so I can't comment / help on how to get it going.

When ours quite working it was an initiator switch or something like that lol! We call Ace and they sent someone out to fix it for us!

How new is "new"? If this is a new stove, not just "new-to-you", it probably has electronic ignition and does not use pilot lights.

Ace is always helpful, and their peeps can sometimes even walk you through what you need to do, and if it is brand new, call where you bought it....I have a whirlpool I could sell you used parts off of, if there is a part problem, I have one that has working v alves, but the oven control panel is shot.

Ace will be extremely helpful if you bought the oven there. If you didn't, not so much. Sunny is right though, that if the oven is "pretty new" it probably doesn't have a pilot light.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that Ace sends a man over to start that oven.
