a dear friend asked, "is there any way that we, your friends, could call the line to help you get the Doxil?" .. well, why the heck not .. even if you want to put your two cents in for all the other cancer patients who are STILL waiting ... Doxil: 866-298-5774 (option 3) ... and for the more daring, Jansson Pharmaceutical: 800-526-7736

the above paragraph is from a dear friend of mine who has cancer pretty badly, and the only chemo drug doing any good at all isn't available and you have to beg constantly to try to get it...Could all you good people out there, please call these people and ask them to ship the Doxil in giant quantities particularly to the Pittsburgh area...I hesitate to give her name due to privacy but I am sure any cancer clinic in Pittsburgh would be fine...thanks so very much...this young lady is only 40 yrs old and needs this desperately....

Thank you so very much...

You want results? Screw the law.

http://www.canmedglobal.c...name=Doxil

Canada is obviously a medical suckhole.

Is it that they're not shipping it? Or do they really not have it to ship?

Thank the FDA. After all, it is stocked full of industry insiders. Yep, they are really looking out for your health.

Please post this on any web site you think might help out...Surely public pressure can help at this point...that Canadian number isn't any good as the oncologist cannot use it legally....so post other web sites as you think of them....thanks again...

Like Buck mentioned you can get it online. Now if (whatever place) delivers what was expected, or not -- who knows. It does seem to me that some of the best capitalists in the world are willing to sell us whatever we want. Problem is, so are some of the best scammers. That given, I don't doubt for an instant however, that it could not be ordered online and shipped promptly to the front door.

but sadly, the insurance won't pay for it, if it was Canadian mailed or issued apparently...which bottom line is this young lady dies...noone has the money to do otherwise...

Well, technically, (well beyond technically), it is illegal.

True but sadly my friend still dies cause Canada can have the stuff we need so badly and it is made in this country...

I'm not understanding this. What is the reason she is not getting the Doxil? Is it because the manufacturer will not ship it anywhere in the US, or is it now illegal to use it here? I had two rounds of Doxil at the end of last year at Holy Rosary in Miles City. Unfortunately it had absolutely no effect on my tumors. I even had new ones appear at that time. When I have told my different doctors at the Sarcoma Oncology Center in Santa Monica that the Doxil didn't work, they both told me it never does. I guess they mean on my particular type of Cancer, Leiomyosarcoma, which is a soft tissue sarcoma. I have been participating in a clinical trial for most of this year with some success. I had to ask for a courtesy review from my insurance company when they turned me down in the beginning because they don't, as a rule, cover investigational treatments, even though the only expenses they needed to cover were the usual labs, CT scans, pre-meds, etc. The drug is free. That is the only time I was (at first) denied coverage. There was never a question about them covering the treatment with Doxil, but I didn't have to get it from Canada. It breaks my heart to think she is not getting the treatment that is really working for her. I wish your friend the best of luck and will think of her when I pray for all of my friends who have been stricken (way too many) with this horrible and very terrifying disease.

Thank you very much, and the problem is she cannot get it as they aren't apparently shipping it anymore and there is a "waiting list" to even get it so she has missed many weeks of needing it and gone on to another one that doesn't work nearly as well...Her friends, myself included, are trying to call these numbers to get the dam to break and the med to come thru more efficiently...
