For many of us, milescity.com is our first point-of-contact for Miles City. I visited this site before seeing downtown for the first time. I'm convinced that it's the city's best ambassador to those who are in a position to relocate their business or household into the area.

With that in-mind, I'd like to suggest that each of us who support milescity.com in spirit also support it by adding a link to milescity.com in the signatures of our outbound e-mails to family and friends. We might all be surprised at how often correspondents will follow the link and discover Miles City.

Using Outlook.
1. Open your e-mail program
2. Select "Tools" from your Menu Bar
3. Choose "Mail Format" from the tab headings
4. Find the "Signature" button in the Mail Format window, click it
5. Press the "Edit" button and type in your Signature message, i.e. www.milescity.com

Outlook Express will require similar steps, if somewhat varied. If you get stuck, use the Help feature of your e-mail software to type in the key word "signature". You'll receive step-by-step instructions.

That's one small nuisance for you - one giant step for Miles City.

Thanks Joe, great idea. I regret that Outlook will only allow me one signature and I use it for jabberwocky studio.

I will try and remember to just add a link to milescity.com on outgoing messages. I will also add a link to my web page.

Jill,

If you'll e-mail me offline and let me know which e-mail program you're using, I can send you instructions for adding a signature to your e-mail messages. Even Mac users use Internet Explorer and Outlook Express for their browsing. Configuring Netscape for a signature isn't much different than Outlook.

Oh, and Tucker, you can add www.milescity.com as a second line in your existing signature for Jabberwocky Studio. There's plenty of room for multiple lines of content.

If you like the idea and want help just contact me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to help you set up your signatures. Just don't give up...

I'm a Mac user and Outlook supports the signatures, and it's bascially as Joe put it. If you have questions, email me directly and I'll try to help.

I have had the milescity.com on the school's web site for years. Also, due to the goofy address: midrivers.comblah.blah.blah.blah I just tell people to go to milescity.com and link from there. In fact, I have introduced many alumni to the site this way. Point being, put the link on your web sites, right next to the weather.

Now, what about tatoos? I think those of us who love this site should head down to the local parlor and get a nice tatoo either on the arm or forehead, etc. It MUST show, though. Enough said.
