Does anyone know when soccer sign ups are for 5 year olds? I missed the sign ups in the Spring and really don't want to miss them this fall.

Ok this maybe a little off, but I'm confused on something. Why is it is costs so much money to sign your kid up to play (not professional) soccer, and it keeps going up each year, the sign up does not include anything but a shirt, and then on top of that you have to sell raffle tickets for more money. What exactly does this money go towards, I know just soccer balls aren't that much, and all of the coaches are parents that donate their time, so....why the hell does the price keep going up. If it ends up going to $60.00 a kid I am def not putting my kids in to play, its just to much and on top of that have to go and sell raffle tickets? Please explain...........I know a lot of parents I have talked to don't understand where all of this money is going and why it keeps going up

First of all, the raffle is only for the spring and usually on last two weeks! The reason the price went up $5 this year is to pay for one child of each of the coaches and assistant coaches as a way to thank them for volunteering their time. Everyone is so BUSY that it is getting harder and harder to find coaches. The raffle that is held only in the spring pays a portion of soccer camp for those kids that choose to take advantage of it. Instead of making money on the camp MCYSA pays almost a third of it. The goals are also being replaced with that money as well. We also have to pay the state fees, tshirts, referees, referee training, coach training, paint for fields, someone to paint the fields, nets(they get vandalized and we have to buy new ones before they are worn out), and many more things that would take way too much space! I suggest that anyone who would like to find out more consider a position on the soccer board and you will see that the money spent is done in a meticulous, well thought out way that always benefits the youth of Miles City. I did not even include the many scholarships that are also granted! I am sorry you are angry but many of the soccer VOLUNTEERS do not even have kids playing and are still donating their time, experience and energy. Like I said, if you have questions about the money call the number that was provided with the registration information and get the answers instead of guessing. The club is run well and we could use some new blood!
