First 1-point win since 1999 (22-21 over Malta).

Going back through the years, here are the other 1-point games the Cowboys have played since 1972:

1995: Defeated Glendive, 13-12 - state championship game
1993: Lost to Glendive, 8-7 (OT) - fourth game of the season
1992: Defeated Glendive, 35-34 - third game of the season
1991: Defeated Glasgow, 8-7 - fifth game of the season, final meeting between the teams.
1989: Lost to Glasgow, 22-21 - third game of the season
1988: Defeated Laurel, 14-13 - fourth game of the season
1988: Defeated Hardin, 21-20 - third game of the season
1986: Lost to Billings Central, 15-14 - first game of the season
1985: Defeated Glendive, 22-21 - fifth game of the season
1984: Lost to Sidney, 3-2 - third game of the season
1975: Defeated Billings Central, 7-6 - first game of the season

Other tidbits:

If the Gazette's stats are accurate ...

Ben Herzog turned in just the 12th 200-yard passing game in school history. His 208 passing yards tie him with Jordan Bryant (vs. Polson in 2008) for the eighth-best total in a single game.

His 28 attempts are tied for the fourth-most in school history and his 18 completions are a school new record, breaking the previous-best mark by four (Travis Rauh, 14 vs. Sheridan in 1992).

All of his stats, not surprisingly, are CCDHS records for a sophomore. The previous standards were established by Gary Lucas in the 1981 state championship game (2-4-65-0-0).

... and it turns out that the Gazette's stats weren't accurate, after all. Still, a very impressive debut for Mr. Herzog, whose official stat line was 14-22-154-2-2. The 14 completions remain a team record, and his 154 yards passing are the most in the first game of a season since Adam Sanchez had 206 against Sheridan in 2000.

Brian,
Do you have any idea how the game will look tomorrow? Stats and other insights?

That's Josh's domain, JW.

But I predict that the Cowboys will play a less sloppy game than they did last week and will win by two touchdowns.

Why do you defer to Josh? He never responds and you seem to know all the stats. I like your info because it is straight to the point and lacks the BS of others.
