Pocos, beef pockets??
Posted by sjstorz (+4) 12 years ago
I came to Miles City a number of years back and my sister took me to a place where they made pocos. They were little beef pockets that you deep fried. They were delicious and I still crave them once in awhile. I heard that the business burnt down a couple years ago though. Does anyone know if they still make them, and if so how I can order some??

I think you are referring to the Crystal Pistol, and they did not burn down. Also, Quality Meats sells "Pacos", not Pocos, as take & bake for Pacos at home.

You can get them in Billings too. Great but I prefer Cowpies!

Where in California do you live? I travel back and forth from Miles City to Los Angeles and North San Diego for medical treatment just about every three weeks. I could probably bring you some frozen ones. I'm pretty sure they will let me on the plane with them in my carry-on. I love pacos too!

You could always make your own! I use frozen bread dough (or make it in the bread machine) and add taco meat and cheese...seal 'em up and bake them. I also make pizza ones with pizza sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese! You can also buy them at Reynolds.

The name of the business is the Crystal Pistol Phone:1-406-232-2500.
They do make them in bulk quantities and sell them.

Hope this helps, Jim

Reynolds carries both the full size and mini size frozen. That's where I get mine. I don't know if they ship or not. Rats. I don't have a phone book handy.

Julie, I live in Moreno Valley, CA (a little south of L.A, and north of S.D) I would pay you for a box of pacos. I have been craving them for weeks

They would probably package it with dry ice and overnight it. That would be a lot safer than me trying to bring frozen ones on the plane.

Smiley, if you can't get Marc to ship you some I will try to bring them out and you could meet me at LAX. Let me know what happens either be posting here or email. The email address associated with my account is good.

Anyone make their own pacos and have recipe recommendations? I like to make my own using spicy sausage, pepperjack cheese and spinach sauteed in olive oil, wrap them up and bake em! yummm
